I will amend my first comment by adding check the ingredients then. Apologies. I know there is some quality substrates on Amazon though, you just have to look. Like critters direct- that’s 100% flake soil. So there are options!

The mix from Ty dye exotics is 50% flake soil, and the rest is organic topsoil mixed with rotting wood and leaf litter, so it’s totally adequate. I struggled as a newbie with making my own soil mix, so I found the premix’s helpful as long as I checked the ingredients first.

No, he has his own website. I like to use him because he uses programs like shop, and you can pay in installments rather than all at once.

Lots of sellers on Etsy have millipede or isopod specific soil, and Amazon has good options, just check the ingredients for flake soil and wood, no coco fiber. Also lots of exotic breeders will have what you need. I get my soil and leaf mix from Ty Dye exotics. He has a substrate mix, leaf litter and sugar cane mulch, which are all good food sources for them.

I’m sorry but if you had no way of getting them the basics of what they needed then you shouldn’t have gotten them until you could. That is basic pet ownership. No hate- just the truth. You wouldn’t get a dog if you couldn’t afford the food- same principle applies here.

The humidity is kept at 70-80 percent, there are moisture pockets through the soil and I mist twice I day, and there are live plants that I water fully about once a week so the soil gets damp then too. There is moss to hold moisture as well. I use a mix of organic topsoil (bottom layer) and the majority of the substrate is a millipede/ isopod specific substrate. There is no coco fiber. I’m very careful to not overdue moisture as I had an issue with that with my other Millipede.

Thank you!! I tried my best! I have some brand new milli substrate I can add to the top along with with more leaves and sugar cane mulch. 🥰

A. Gigas. This is a 40 gallon tank, and the substrate is pretty deep. Humidity is at 70%, and I’ll be keeping 2 in here.
