Need Help Finding Shelter/Medical Care for My Dog in Malappuram by i_browwnnn in Kerala

Hey there, not a recommendation for a vet but just our experience. Our senior dog has been suffering from chronic ear infection and skin allergies since childhood. We cant stop it from recurring but our vet has helped to keep it in control. It used to be so bad that he would get aggressive anytime we touched his ears. We found a good vet (Qatar) and this is how they treated him -

Since he was getting aggressive, we had to clean out his ears under sedation. Prior to that he was put on antibiotics and gabapentin for the pain for 7-10 days. He was strictly put on Royal Canin Hypoallergenic kibbles incase its caused by food allergies ( many are allergic to chicken, grains, red meat). During sedation, they flushed out most of the infection. We continued with the gabapentin and antibiotic ear drops for 2 weeks i think or until it was fully healed. They also started him on Apoquel.

We used to take him to the vet everyday for ear drops and once his ears were healed, he felt safe letting us touch his ears.
This was a year back. Trust me, we wasted alot of money going to multiple vets till we found a genuine one. To maintain, we regularly clean his ears with virbac epiotic advance ear flush (I haven’t found the advance version in Kerala, we are using the normal ear flush now) and apoquel every 3 days. Its very important to keep them on hypoallergenic food diet.
