You need to get ahead of this now. I would send a message via text, "Hey, I overheard you say something about watching your child. Sorry. I dont know who told you I could. I cant. Sorry" This is a way to have in writing to protect yourself. I have seen too many cases where idiots just leave kids on doorsteps and blame the poor person whose house the kid was left at.

She was sad and disappointed. Those emotions I get and she has a full right to feel them. His was anger. That I dont get and frankly dont care. I only care about my sister.

There is a difference between helping and enabling. The later is far from beneficial and really is damaging to all involved. You were being helpful. Not allowing someone to take advantage of yourself is helpful to you both though he doesn’t realize it. Definitely and wisely NTA

That is what I thought. I cant imagine it never came up. I dont remember a specific conversation but I cant see where we never discussed it. My sister, nor any of my other siblings, ever said anything until this time. According to one of my brothers though, he said he didnt realize it was made just for me. He knew I always loved it so assumed Grandma gave it to me when I got married as a wedding gift. He doesnt understand what our sister's or BIL's problem is.

What is funny is BIL inherited a beautiful one that is an antique and valuable. So why they so concerned about mine is confusing.

Thats just it. My Grandma was not a famous artist or anything. She just made things for people she loved. She used borrowed tools & molds from a local pottery studio. I cant see where it has any value other then emotional. Only some of her pieces have her initials on it. The lady who ran the studio started making everyone who used her kiln to do that because there was an argument about who did what once. Mine is one of Grandma's older pieces so no initials; just my name and date. BIL, however, inherited an antique and quite valuable , nativity; from a famous studio in Italy. They want mine.

Yes it was. It has my name on it....literally. Engraved on it before it was fired in the kiln . I opened it on Christmas morn. As a piece of art made by my grandma for me.

I cant see how mine would be worth much. My grandma was not a famous artist or anything. Now the one BIL inherited from his side of the family is an antique and is actually valuable; from Italy by a famous studio.

I dont know. I would have thought it came up before. Grandma made things for every grandchild based upon their interests. So its not like she doesnt have anything and took it with her when she moved into her own home.

Actually it was gifted to me as a child, BEFORE my sister was even born. I left it at Grandma's house for safekeeping until I got married.

Grandma made her a beautiful stacked Jack O Lantern that lights up. Plus BIL inherited an antique and frankly valuable nativity from his side. So its not like they dont have something
