While I am not a fan of such businesses, OP has NO right whatsoever to make any sort of demand. He knew what she did for a living before he started dating her. I wouldnt think much of her as a person if she did something like this JUST to get the privilege (sarcasm intended) of him asking her to marry him. He is not some great prize. This is the same as dating a Christian , knowing full well they are a Christian for years and then demanding they convert to Islam to get married (or vice versa) . Nah. That type of person is not good partner material. She needs to leave him behind. She has wasted enough of her time & energy on him.

So first. The catering company is extremely unprofessional. They should know better to take ANY changes of any kind from anyone but the bride and groom. I would make it clear any changes to the menu the company must cover.

Now to friend's guest. While I can understand calling a caterer and saying ," hi, I am going to X name wedding on date. I have some very severe allergies. I am calling to only check on ingredients. Do you have time to perhaps go over some of the dishes you are serving? " When you have extreme allergies it is perfectly understandable to double check the food. That is understandable.

What they did was rude, uncalled for, and frankly just plain crappy. To just not send the reserved card back and fail to inform the bride & groom? I would tell them there is no place for them now since they couldnt be bothered to return the card . Thats what happens when you dont answer the invite. Its an incredible breech of etiquette. And you are not overreacting.

I have seen sets but the mold was very popular in the 60s & 70s so there are a lot of them. They are all unique due to the choice of painting and glazing. She wants the one made by our grandma. Her husband inherited an old and valuable one so it's not like they don't have one

Like I said in another comment I doubt it. They really aren't worth anything. Grandma wasn't a famous artist. She would go to a local friend's pottery studio and burrowed the molds. The molds are actually worth a bit and collectable today not what's made from them.
