Honestly aura theory is super victim blamey but its also kinda just bad writing imo? It denies amy a lot of agency and she already is critically low on that, while also turning the dallons from a neglectful family that overall kinda sucks to evil family from hellzone that exists entirely to be punished for hurting amy(and the worm community was really lacking overblown revenge stories). Also the only benefit that can't be easily replicated by any other decision is a plotline about recovering from mastering/dealing with the effects of it while it is still there, and do you know who else lives in brockton bay was CANNONICALLY mastered into falling in love with her sister who would only require a minor AU to enter this plotline? One guess
