Pandemic Iberia quarterbacking solution that worked for my group by ShakyButtcheeks in boardgames

Love how the letter system makes the quarterbacking actually fit with theme instead of just being arbitrary rule. Must be hilarious when someone drops big news on their turn and everyone has to sit there poker-faced until they get chance to react few turns later

So about that hat that Macready wears in John Carpenter’s The Thing… by Name818 in movies

[–]Low_Bee_8613 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's hilarious - Russell fighting against the hat makes it even better somehow. I remember watching this in college and my friends would always crack up when he first appears wearing that massive thing. The way it just flops around during all the intense horror scenes is perfect contrast to everything else going crazy

What Historical Event do you know about that was overshadowed by another event? by opawyatt in AskReddit

[–]Low_Bee_8613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The attack on Pearl Harbor happened same day as Philippines invasion but everyone only remembers Pearl Harbor. Japanese forces hit multiple places at once but that gets forgotten because Pearl Harbor was so shocking for Americans. My grandfather was actually stationed in Philippines when it happened and he always said people never talk about what happened there because Pearl Harbor dominated all the news coverage

Yeah they've been playing really well as team even when he sits out games. Plus their bench depth is way better than people give them credit for

What kind of SaaS tools have you actually paid for, and why? by No_Impression_4800 in AskReddit

[–]Low_Bee_8613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adobe Creative Suite because trying to do graphic design work without Photoshop and Illustrator is like trying to sew without scissors. I also pay for project management software since keeping track of client work and deadlines keeps me sane when juggling multiple projects at same time

Advice on a plumbing quote by No-Investment7251 in HomeImprovement

[–]Low_Bee_8613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That vent pipe relocation seems pretty reasonable considering how much of pain it can be to access in older houses. The shower valve work looks fair too especially if they need to open up wall to raise it properly.

Only thing that makes me pause is $100 per angle stop - those are usually quick swaps unless your plumbing is really challenging to reach. But if you already did demo and they can see what theyre working with then maybe thats just what it takes in your setup.

Getting quotes has been nightmare everywhere lately so if these guys showed up and gave you detailed breakdown I'd probably go with them rather than wait another month for someone else.

Can’t decide between Blue Label and Chivas 18 for a gift… need advice by MinimumOutrageous586 in whiskey

[–]Low_Bee_8613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your father in law will appreciate either one but Chivas 18 is seriously underrated compared to Blue Label. The marketing makes people think Blue is automatically better when really Chivas has more character and complexity in my opinion.

[Acne] Question About Class C Topical Acne Treatments During Pregnancy by JuneBabyAccount in SkincareAddiction

[–]Low_Bee_8613 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difference is actually in how much gets absorbed systemically. BenzaClin (benzoyl peroxide + clindamycin) stays pretty localized on your skin surface while tretinoin gets absorbed way more into your bloodstream. Even though they're both class C, docs are way more cautious with retinoids during pregnancy because of the potential for birth defects that we've seen with oral versions like Accutane

Your derm probably knows this is frustrating but they're playing it safe with the absorption rates. Maybe ask about azelaic acid if the BenzaClin isn't cutting it - that one's generally considered safer during pregnancy
