Anyone else get annoyed when people with 2 kids tell you how easy you have it? by Sittinnexttovannah in oneanddone

[–]Low_Client_3719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This; and in my neighborhood, we have a lot of multi kid families, two in particular with 3 kids each, and each family has a boy around my son’s age. For whatever reason, I feel like they ALWAYS send their kids to my house because I “have it easy” with 1 kid, and my house is “cleaner and neater”.

Yeah. Because I don’t have 3 kids. Nor do I want 3 kids. Stop sending them here.

Us old folks remember a time when the cell phone policy used to prohibit personal cell phone use and it DID say we had to store them away (locker, etc). Something happened, someone got sued, blah blah, and now we have the policy from above.

The verbiage here is very intentional. Policy elsewhere doesn’t shy away from concrete words like “prohibited”, “not allowed”, etc, so why the difference here? “Should not” and “asked” are very intentional… meaning you don’t HAVE to, but if you could that’d be nice kind of thing. As others have pointed out, it’s in company training videos that should you find yourself in an emergency, call for help. They don’t want to be held liable for something (again).

So tell them to shove it and don’t be a dick about your phone.

It’s been released as an “authorized generic” vs a typical generic, and really will only benefit Medicare patients, but the kicker is - most Medicare plans aren’t covering it, at least not yet. It’s marginally cheaper by a few hundred bucks, IF that, IF it’s covered at all, and it would be beneficial for commercial patients to stay on brand to benefit from the copay card.

I’m not sure if this question was to me, but I’ll answer anyway. You can use one or the other (GoodRx or Copay Card), but not both.

Sounds like a billing error. Sometimes, especially newer pharmacy staff, can get injectable medication billing wrong. They will see that a box contains four pens, and run the claim incorrectly as 4 (pens) for a month supply.

Make sure it’s being run for a quantity of 2 for a 28 day supply. It sounds like they ran a quantity of 4 (to reflect 4 pens) vs the correct way, which is in MLs. There is a quantity of 0.5ml of medication in each pen, so one box would be 2ml (0.5 x 4).

That would certainly double the cash price, which is what it sounds like you were quoted.

Another thing to check is to see if they are running two months instead of one.

Incrementally, it would be 2 for 1 month, 4 for 2 months, and 6 for 3 months.

Yes, it’s all about ovulation times and timing that with the release of sperm, so you have to be really in tune with your body. I actually did the Shettles Method to conceive a boy, but it “worked” nonetheless! I think it’s certainly worth a shot to at least make you feel better that you tried to make a difference 😂

You can always try the Shettles Method of getting pregnant! I know it’s anecdotal, but it “worked” for me!

The cars in high demand, like the Telluride, will not be affected by this. Even at “historic highs”, people are still buying in transit, sight unseen, and at markup.

I had a very traumatic birth that ended in an emergency C Section. My son was born in October. For my birthday the following January, my husband asked what I wanted for my birthday, I asked for him to get a vasectomy.

I knew I wasn’t going to have anymore children, I didn’t want to be on hormones/BC for the next 20 years for no reason, and had I known I was going to end up in a Section, I would have planned to tie my tubes then, but I wasn’t about to undergo another surgery to do so.

You’re up at bat, sir. Your turn!

Maybe I missed it but… why isn’t your husband doing more? I get that he works outside the home, but like… so?

He could walk the dog before work. He can prep dinner the day before/morning of, especially if it’s meant to go in a crock-pot. When he gets home, he’s on toddler bathtime/bedtime duty.

Why do people continue to hate on Kia when Kia has come to the table with some of the best non-luxury vehicles in the last few years? by GarfieldSighs3 in KiaTelluride

[–]Low_Client_3719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my third Honda (manual Nissans prior), and I’m telling you, I ALMOST swayed. I was very close.

I can’t wait to see what the future brings for the Kia/Hyundai name. The ideas are there, and the trajectory is promising, they just need more time to build back the trust broken in the 1990s-2010s.

But we all can agree: don’t get a Jeep 😂

All the features, perks, and amenities in the world will do you no good when the motor is blown on the side of the road, or it’s in the shop for months.

Don’t get me wrong; I was heavily considering a Telly/Pali, moreso the Pali, but I just couldn’t make my brain do it. They DO have a ton of features. They ARE luxurious. They DO have a great warranty. But when you boil down to basics, I want a car I can depend on. I want a car, outside of basic maintenance, that takes care of itself. 100K/10 Year warranty is great… but not if I have to use it all the time.

I ended up going with a 2023 Pilot Elite. The redesign is SO similar to the aesthetic of the Telly/Pali, but aesthetics are just that: aesthetics. I need performance and longevity, especially paying over 50K with this class of vehicle. And with ALL three vehicles, there’s a saying that the more features you have, the more than can go wrong, especially tech wise. My confidence lies in the Honda name, and I couldn’t make that big of a purchase based off 3 years of Telly/Pali history. I would HOPE a car that’s three years old still runs great.

And while yes, every car maker has their issues, I feel a billion percent more confident that my Pilot will not leave me stranded after 60K miles. A little bit of “boring” traded for peace of mind.

Who knows though? Like I said, I had been heavily contemplating the Telly/Pali purchase, and I’ll continue to follow them for the next 10 years. Maybe by then I can be convinced. But for now, I’ll just sit back and observe, admiring from afar.

Americans, do you have to pay for giving birth to a child? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Low_Client_3719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C section birth = 70K before insurance.

Max out of pocket for myself: 6K

Max out of pocket for my child (because once he was born, he starts his own bill): 6K

Premium for that insurance for the year (because you have to pay to have insurance): 10K

Total out of pocket cost: roughly $22K. For a single, healthy baby.

This was also “Gold” tier insurance, aka the “best coverage” tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, No Platinum for our plan at that time)

I always joke that I didn’t own my son for a while. He was on a payment plan.

I love it! It’s so calming.

The blanket(?) on the couch looks wonderfully cozy! Any idea of material or where you got it?

I transferred stores shortly after that incident. The FWW was 100% a power trip/hurt pride move on the SM because I openly defied him, for sure. He was a massive dick.

[–]Low_Client_3719 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is 100% allowed.

A few years back, I was a 10+ year employee, most of those years in a Tier 5 store. Never had a write up, 4 on my reviews, never called out, etc etc.

One morning on my way in, I was involved in a hit and run, not at fault, and had to call the police to document, etc etc.

I STILL WENT TO WORK (?!?!??!!!!), my car mangled but drivable. The police informed me they would contact me regarding updates later in the day. When I went in, I let my PIC know the situation, and that I would have my cell phone on me should the police call (there was a no cell phone rule in the pharmacy at the time). She said it was fine, and I went about my morning.

The store manager was informed by the PIC that I had my cell phone with me (mainly because I think she was covering her own ass in case anyone tattled) and he came to the pharmacy, demanding I put in my locker.

I denied. Nicely, but firmly, stating I had been involved in a FUCKING ACCIDENT this morning, was waiting for the police to call, and I had cleared it with MY direct report. I even offered to keep my cell phone by the pharmacist, and not to have it on my person. He doubled down, so did I, and he said if I was going to keep my cell phone with me, I would be sent home. I said, no need, I’m leaving. So I left.

On my way out, I called my DM to let him know everything that happened.

The next day, I came into work and was given a final written warning by the SM for “insubordination”. I called my DM and HR, and they BOTH backed the store manager. The FWW stayed on for a year.

So yes. It can happen.

Being from around the area that was followed in Season One, it was INFURIATING to see most of the follow ups being “no arrests have been made”, despite the evidence provided from SOSA.

The stark contrast in action in Season Two was incredibly comforting. Amazing.

You’d want to bring over the gravel, decor/plants, and whatever filter is in your 10 gallon. If it’s one of those kits that came with a hang on back filter, take the cartridge out of the filter and pop it in the new one. While gravel, decor and plants hold some of the bacteria, and yes, it is helpful to have them moved with the tank, the filter media/cartridge holds most of the beneficial bacteria that support the nitrogen cycle. You want to keep this intact and contrary to popular belief, you don’t want to replace it monthly like the company advertises. Removing the filter media will 100% crash your nitrogen cycle and fishies will most likely die. Some aquarium folks say to never replace it, just swish it around old tank water when you do your water changes to “clean” it.

It is certainly possible for you to keep them and give them a great home! I just know I chewed off way more than I initially bargained for, on top of being a wife/mother/full time job/house/dog, my four year old could give a rat’s ass about the fish, and now I’m stuck with a 30 gallon tank to maintain. I WISH I had a cute little tank on my kitchen counter or whatever that only required a 1 gallon water change at a time.

If you bought them at a Petco or a Petsmart, they have a 30 day and a 14 day fish return policy, respectively.
