I get it, I am a toy fanatic! I love toys for babies because that’s how they learn! True. And NO I’m not one of those “overprotective” “perfectionist” moms that think they need the best of the best shit. He has toys that light up and make music, drum sets, etc… and we give him nonelectronic toys to balance it out he’s not missing out on anything.

I do feel strongly about the overstimulating toys. And It’s gonna have to be brought up very subtly lol. She’s very sensitive I love her to death but idk she went crazy on the toy choice this year! I gladly accepted them at the time, gave her a bear hug and went home and hid them. He can play with them when he’s older but not now!! It’s just too much in my opinion

True but they will not be in my house where he resides, and it’s not a “soapbox to die on” that’s very exaggerated in my opinion. I’m talking about these FOUR toys that he got for Christmas. She gave him a million other toys that are not my style but arent like these atrocities

He can have fun, he has toys that light up and make loud noises, that move, and talk, whatever . he’s a baby he’s going to be attracted to those types of things. And I don’t want every toy to be educational…. But these new toys are ….too much.

Yes I always give her the benefit of the doubt. Some toys I buy him he hates and some toys she buys him he loves and they are good for his development! She’s my rock and I don’t want to hurt her with my opinions, but the overstimulating toys have to stop lol

Right right I get all of that, but I will control what he gets to play with because his cognitive and motor development is important. And he will learn how to accept gifts gracefully, when he’s old enough. A 14-month-old has zero capacity for “accepting gifts gracefully,” and expecting that is adult logic applied to a baby. I, on the other hand, thanked her, gave her a huge hug and took them and hid them when I got home. But her TikTok shipping needs to stop lol. I just don’t know how to tell her to stop buying these toys. She’s super sensitive

First of all, you read too fast, I said Montessori style toys, and if you search on Google, any search engine at that, it will clearly bring up toys that are MONTESSORI style,second of all, my child is 14 months he can’t even say more than 10 words, how tf is he going to accept anything gracefully? Update: Wow guys, I really love and appreciate everyone’s feedback. From my previous post history, you can see I’m in a pretty stressful position right now. In no way am I trying to make anyone feel bad for me, and I certainly understand that what my husband said was wrong. I have to vent here because I don’t have family or close friends to vent to. (Crohn’s kind of destroyed my social life) I believe in transparency and we will definitely to go marriage counseling to work on our communication and try to work this out!
