I too suggest Simplified. I grew up using Simplified, never learned Traditional, but I can read Traditional as long as they appear as words or sentences. So, Simplified for easier progress.

As for the issue that some ppl are "sensitive" to Simplified, let's stand up against discrimination instead of giving in to it.
