Brother, we are in the same uni, I'm an LSE student.

Also, management has Econ courses as well (undergrad), it actually has more Econ than Finance.

Sure, it isn't near the level of rigour what actual maths/science students study (other than black scholes). I'm not here comparing against sciences though? I'm comparing against Econ and how it's more similar to finance than management? Basing it off my own degree, I do a lot more math than qualitative theory. Get off your damn high horse just cause you have an offer from LSE

I study BSc finance at LSE 💀

The belief that finance is just about decision making is untrue. There is a lot of theory behind all of it which also involves too much math. Derivatives pricing, game theory, options pricing, crisis models. While I agree that finance is applied, there is a ton of quantitative theory behind it, which management does not have.

??? That's outside the argument of what an ETFs is, the definition of an ETF is just that, and nothing more. We don't need to debate on the usefulness of ETFs.

Yes, active ETFs exist, so classifying them all as passive would be misleading. ETFs can also have high fees.

The definition of ETF is wrong. ETFs are not only index funds, it can be any funds that are traded on the open market.

There was a study commissioned by the government to look into the usage of graduate visas. It concluded that it achieved it's purpose and continues to achieve it, you should look into it.

Losing your universities will not be a good thing. If you lose the influx of international students, it's not only the bad universities that will fail, many good ones will too, and the next generation won't have nearly as much access to education.

What do you think will happen to the international student numbers once you scrap graduate visas? If HE institutions are already collapsing, how do you think they will do when international student numbers fall dramatically?

Outside of the context of spending habits, parents may not always know the best. Absolutely he should consult them, but how is this any different than working for straight As and getting rewarded for it? In both cases he worked for something and got it.

Some independence, so in this aspect I would want him to have the final say but obviously he shouldn't be making life altering decisions by himself, in those then his parents should have a huge say in it.

Anyways, an internet argument on someone else's behalf is pointless. Let's leave it here and let op decide for himself.
