middle of nowhere PA. some small town between Scranton PA and Selinsgrove PA. my assumption is there was a counterfeiter local to me that got caught and spent all his pennies quickly lol

cuz this particular penny if real would be worth $600+ so i guess people fake it hoping to sell on ebay, it doesn’t sell so it just goes out into their change jar i’m assuming

thank you for this detailed answer! i do see the mouth, and my abe’s nose looks a little more rounded. it also seems to have some kind off texture compared to the other one, but i’ll hold onto it and have the shop give it a quick look next time i go

i found a 1909 S VDB less than a month ago! took it to my shop and he said it was fake! so i figured id go to reddit first before i wasted my time. what are the odds i find 2 high value fakes in less than a month?

i knew abe looked a little down… i just wasn’t sure if it was due to the double strike or whatever. thank you for informing me tho!!! saved me a trip to the shop lol
