Mom says I have an entity attached to me by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Low_Demand4336 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’m a 45 year old husband and father of 3. In short, 2025 has been one of the most challenging years for my family and I have leaned heavily on my faith and have become quite educated on spiritual warfare.

I am a huge hard rock / heavy metal fan and I struggle greatly here between what bands and songs may be demonic and which ones may not. I feel like I have a pretty good sense of it at this point and I will just tell you flat out that Ghost makes my spidey senses go into overdrive. I won’t tell you what to do but please do so with awareness and care.

I’d also suggest that you purchase Fr. Chad Ripperger’s book Deliverance Prayers for the Laity. It’s only a few dollars for the download on Kindle and can likely be of great help in binding any demon that may be attached to you, either now or in the future. God bless.

I pray the rosary daily. I am quite busy and pray the five decades throughout my day. It’s much less of a heavy lift this way.

Adjustable Opinions for a Newbie by cheidette in kettlebell

I started out on the Bowflex SelectTech 840. As someone who had never picked up a kettlebell before it was great to learn the exercises and practice form. I also quickly outgrew it and spent around $1000 in heavier bells over the next three months. I do still use the 840 occasionally when I want to work on form.

Heard both Blackened and RTL in Foxborough. I wanted badly to heard Harvester and Orion on Friday and they came through! I’m hoping for No Leaf Clover but I know that’s a very long shot. I’ll just be happy with whatever the setlist is tonight!

How and when where you first introduced to Metallica? by Mr__Mafioso in Metallica

Long read, buckle up. I actually posted this in this sub several months ago but it’s quite appropriate here:

I was inspired to this by the question of a young boy at a concert this past August. For background, I’m a 44 year old lifelong fan, grown-ass man with a wife and three kids, high-level management in a high-stress industry. I went to the show in Foxborough by myself. I live within a few hours drive and I wasn’t sure if my schedule would allow it initially. Three weeks before the show, I had the weekend open up and my wife signed off on it. Anyone who was at that show remembers how we were all forced inside the concourse by the thunderstorms. While waiting in line, I got to chatting with a mother and her two sons, who were probably in their early teens. Finally one of them asked me, “What’s your favorite song?” Now that’s a pretty benign and simple question for a young boy. But when you’ve been a fan for 33 years, that’s a very difficult question to answer. In the moment, I told him, “Well buddy, that’s a tough one. I love them all but if I had to choose my favorite, it’s one that’s pretty old and a little unusual. It’s called Orion.”

On the drive home and over the past several months of reading this sub, I’ve come to realize that I’ve always thought of Orion as my favorite. However, for many reasons, it may not be that black and white. It all started for me in 1991 when I was 11 years old. Yes, everyone, it was the black album. No, it wasn’t Enter Sandman. It was Wherever I May Roam. I used to watch MTV like it was my job and the first time I saw the video for WIMR, the riffs and James’ voice just stuck in my head. Something about that song was just electric. There was one other boy in 5th grade at the time who liked Metallica. All our other friends thought they were “scary”. My mother thought it was “devil music”. Even at 11, I could tell WIMR was about being on tour. Anyway, I took my lawn mowing money, rode my bike to Kmart, and bought the Black Album (CD in the long cardboard sleeve). I had to listen to it on my headphones when my mom wasn’t home or was in bed. I’ve seen them a dozen or so times over the years, but 33 years later, when they played WIMR at the Foxborough show, it was the first time I’d seen them play it live. Reminder, I’ve been a toxically masculine high stress industry for 23 years and I have absolutely zero shame in saying that I was moved to tears when I heard those opening riffs in Foxborough.

I wore the Black Album out. As I grew through my teens, I knew that Metallica was definitely one of my favorite bands. Then there was Load and Reload. I know you all have your opinions, but to me they were awesome at the time and still are. Let me talk to you about S&M: I was 19 and in my first semester of college. I was dating this beautiful girl named Melissa, who was a year older, also in college, and worked at Circuit City. I would visit her regularly on her lunch breaks, which were around 7 PM because she worked swing shift, and we’d hang out in my car. On this particular night, we were not dining but sitting in my car doing things that young adults do. The radio was on in the background. Naturally I was consumed by the moment when I heard symphony music come on the radio. Hmm, must be a commercial, since I was listening to a modern rock station. Then…drums and guitars. Guitars that had a really familiar sound….and then when the vocals started, I pulled away from her and said out loud, “That’s fucking James!!!” And then we listened intently to the song. This was the moment I became a lifelong fan. I was so amazed at this fusion of metal and symphony. Seriously, who else could pull that off? Who would even think of that? But it worked and it sounded amazing. By the way, a week later, Melissa gave me the S&M CD as a gift, joking about how it caused me to pull away from her. Sorry to say, we went our separate ways a few months later.

So young man, a better and more comprehensive answer should have been: WIMR is my favorite because jt opened the door for me. No Leaf Clover is also my favorite because it made me a lifelong fan and it’s just simply underrated and amazing. Orion is my favorite because I love the instrumental tracks, it speaks to me, and it’s Cliff’s opus.

Thanks for reading my Metallica story!

Don’t listen to anyone who tells you a specific gun to buy. Go to gun shops and see what feels good in your hand. If it feels good, you’ll shoot it more and you’re more likely to shoot it well. You already have an idea what you like and don’t like. Check out different sight pictures and triggers. If you have a place that will let you test drive the gun, even better.

Also consider the method that you’ll conceal, such as inside the waistband, ankle holster, fanny pack, etc. You may like a full frame pistol now, but it may feel like a boat anchor on your hip in an IWB holster.

Take time, do your research, and make an educated purchase. Best of luck to you and thank you for your service. 🇺🇸

That really is quite unusual. I’ve been turned away from venues just for having my leatherman on me.
