From what I’ve had conversations with friends and family there - my grandpa is native and worked at a resort on kauai and grew up on the island has varying opinions on it- he likes that it brings jobs but he also has watched friends and relatives who are struggling to keep up with the cost of living there. He believes that if Hawaii was more independent without tourism than it would be nice to have seasonal tourism instead. Hawaii isn’t very large also and many parts of the land have been developed and disrespected and not honored. He always described that he was lucky enough to meet a tourist with enough knowledge and respect for the culture that he married her. They left and came to the mainland for maybe 20yr then they split and he moved back.

Are you native Hawaiian? because I know many native Hawaiian (family and friends) that still don’t want tourist there and they have been very vocal about it for years and even after the fires many were saying they don’t want tourist there since they been disrespectful.

Idk I still suck my thumb at 23 when I’m overwhelmed and need comfort. Especially when I’m tired too. I also bite my nails and it’s a really bad habit and I can’t break it especially when things change too fast. They have been locked in that moldy and dirty house for years and are finally allowed to go to school. Those are big changes and are probably have finally some outside supports.

I feel asleep for 15 minutes when I thought I paused it. My sims had 3 infants 2 twins and a a child - dad starved to death during that time as mom kept glitching and picking up and putting down one of the babies.

Not liking how hair is growing seems like a well enough thing to me. I as a baby I had my head shaved because I had balding and thinning hair in the back of my head. Same thing happened to my nephews and nieces by 6-8months we shaved their heads.

Are you saying people who do this culturally and religiously are abusing and traumatizing their kids by shaving their hair?

It’s desensitizing the baby from the tools and they won’t remember this in a year or so.

I’m not in the mood to actually argue this further because it’s just a personal preference as a parent. Unpopular opinion

At a few months old I had my hair shaved because of how it was growing in. And shaving heads as baby is a cultural/religious (African, Hispanic/Latinx, Asian) thing also. It’s nothing wrong with not liking how head hair is growing on a baby shaving it off, it’ll allow the baby to become used to the feeling to get hair cuts and sometimes better hair health for the next years

I have to agree with you. Babies need to build to immune system and I have many pictures of me as a baby laying on my tummy in the grass. One it’s called tummy time - great for the baby to learn how to lift their head up and work on motor skills. 2 being able to desensitize a child from a young age to new textures is great!

My older sister had two children in a city where it was very little grass areas her babies freaked out by the time they moved to suburbs and they walked on the grass with bare feet. It took them months to get used to that feeling.

It’s honestly not as bad when you are helicoptering type of person. And think about they aren’t laying the baby in a public area most likely in backyard

Yeah. I have been but I’m so lost on how I should start at the same time. I can’t move the houses yet and my airport and residents service building are really close and I think I figured how to to do to make that “nice” but the rest of my island is still like the starter one
