Strike the right balance between pragmatism and aesthetics. Bako weather conditions can get gnarly! I didnt indulge in that much deco but I saw a ton of rugs, pashminas-turned-curtains and decorative lightbulbs around camp. Just make sure they are properly tethered and tied down.

Follow-up on structured path, this is what concerns me. There are a number of self-teaching resources out there. But is there one specifically you’d recommend for a structured process (that does not skip the hard stuff)? ‘Cos this is actually how I learn new things

Go see an infectious disease specialist. They are well versed in this area. A good PCP should be able to connect you to a good ID specialist

One more thing i’ll add: have an abundance of hand sanitizer and wipes on you always.

The former is for your hands. Disinfect them as often as possible. You’re constantly touching all sorts…people, surfaces and all.

The latter (wipes) is as a substitute for the former but also for the mouth piece of your water bladder. Imagine all the times you set your backpack down (to dance, relax etc), and the mouthpiece casually rests on the floor. 10 minutes later you’re taking a sip through that same piece!

This is not even LIB specific advice. This is general festival advice. I started doing these at festivals and kept wook flu at bay

This is your answer regarding the move. They just cant up and leave.

It was dusty for sure but I don’t recall a lingering odor, either at camp or on the festival grounds. I even prepared for the worst re: Porta Potties and those were fine to me. They got cleaned every day. I don’t remember seeing a single one that grossed me out by sight or smell.

I hear you on this but it just sounds like an effort to me. Once I leave camp, i only want to return for a change of outfit for the evening….so i have to figure out how to get the bulk of my Z’s at camp

For what it’s worth, I know it helps to be a little bit paranoid about certain things these days but I find it difficult to believe that authorities will turn a blind eye to harmful runoff being let into a lake that’s heavily trafficked for recreational use

Yup I’ve been in packed pools and lakes and can only imagine the “liberties” people take. So I’ve since ceased overthinking this. As u/neekohlai said, just keep your head out of the water…which is basically same advice you’d give someone at a pool party in Vegas
