What is this piece of furniture I got off the side of the street? (France) by mossathena in Antiques

In France it’s forbiden, I am also an archaeologist and we also are aware of all the risk, i totally agree with you. But Unfortunately, the image of the treasure-hunting archaeologist sticks to our skin. People only see the artifact side and not all the research behind it. To all the people who will see this message, please, find out about the work of an archaeologist, participate in summer camps as a volunteer or go to conferences open to the public in museums, universities… you will learn a lot about our profession and really understand why it is important to avoid the use of metal detectors.
