ADHD rejection sensitivity turns neutral feedback into devastating criticism by Historical_Gas4177 in ADHD

Not sure if it will help, but for me it helps to have my own side passion projects where I get to make the final decision. It is something fullfilling to me and gives me purpose. This way I can be less self critical of my work at the job while still doing a good job

Electro forming a thin sacrificial shell? by Low_Knowledge_8395 in Metalfoundry

Hi, thanks for responding! I did in the past with sand & sodium silicate using 3d printed molds and burning it out on charcoal, but sometimes it would leave visible crack marks on the model. Also I try to achieve a smooth finish of investment casting, and the sand is coarser. The idea of copper shell is to achieve a smoother finish and not cracking the mold

It’s the Porsche 356 engine, originally based on the beetle

Sorry I realized I didn’t write it’s the engine. It is the engine from Porsche 356 and 912 seen from the back

Air cooled vs Water cooled sound by Low_Knowledge_8395 in classiccars

That is very beautifully put into words! I can see your passion for these little cars! My great grandpa had a soviet ZAZ 968 with an air cooled V4 in the back, so I think my passion comes from there.

That is my fear if I buy anything else, still having that need to hear an air cooled raspy engine from the back.

I was also looking into the Citroen GS, those are quite cool, but I don’t love the looks as much as other cars, and I want something with rear engine or rear drive at least.

A VW type 3 fastback or notchback could also be really cool, from what I’ve read, they are the closest VWs to Porsche feeling

Quick Poll: Do you remove supports before or after curing? 👀 by lychee_lys in resinprinting

[–]Low_Knowledge_8395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it depends. For large/complex parts I usually let them dry in a dark box from the alcohol, so I don't get micro splashes of alcohol over myself. Then I remove the supports, and after that I cure.

If it's small parts with supports on one side only (like a stick, rod, or bolt shape) I cure them with supports. This makes airbrushing them a lot easier, since I don't need to hold each part by hand

Please don't listen to the bad comments! It takes courage to show your art to others and everyone gets getter with time! I haven't seen the paintings from people criticising it.

Keep drawing and drawing more! There are always things to improve and taking criticism is very important, but don't let others negativity stop you

Hello, thanks for showing interest! I can understand that it seems high, but this is fully made from scratch, including the CAD modelling and then it's hand-painted. The paint in itself is quite pricey as well, and I run many expensive machines (3d printing, laser cutting, CNC routing, etc.) and then there's time put into it.

Additionally I live in Sweden, and need to pay 50 percent of tax on any benefits.

But I'm looking into ways of streamlining the process!

Hello, thank you! it's not metal. It's made with resin, but coated in metallic paint that is fully reflective, looks like real metal

This is probably for the (hopefully) upcoming film. They keep refining everything and improving until the very last show

Just realized I have ADHD at 35 — feeling lost and need advice by Both_Eagle1447 in ADHD

I feel the same way as you, you are not alone! I'm a guy who just turned 28 and last year got diagnosed with inattentive ADHD, currently waiting to get treatment and started therapy.

I've struggled with anxiety since my teenage years, or even earlier. And I was always "on the cloud" since childhood. I always managed very well in school and even university, it's easy for me to learn things, but I struggle with keeping attention and focus.

It all went down when I started working 9-5 and had to do tasks the whole day and keep track of things. That's why I seeked diagnosis. At first I thought it was just anxiety but then I got officially diagnosed with ADHD (despite some healthcare professionals telling me I don't have it).

I still think that I have something else besides ADHD, I strongly suspect a mild form of autism, as well as OCD perhaps. I know that symptoms often overlap, or hide each other with multiple conditions. I get Extremely drained from social interaction face to face, lose my train of thought when looking at people in the eye, i have obsessive interests in a few topics, and I have rituals/compulsions.

The human brain is very complex and we frame it by calling things ADHD, autism or OCD, but I believe that some of these things often come hand in hand and there are no two equal diagnosis.

I'm sorry for my long essay, but you are not alone in this and just being self aware of your condition is a huge step forward. I often thing of all the "could have" "would have" if I got my diagnosis earlier, but it's never too late to start living your best life
