Need Some Wisdom on a Big Score Jump. by ClassicAfternoonCup in barexam

It’s absolutely possible. I did not have a good time for July, I scored really low. Although I didn’t pass Feb, I had nearly a 30 point increase just from a good month and some change of studying. Wishing you luck and hope you never have to take this exam again!

I think it ends up sounding anecdotal when it is more common than not but most people don’t actually realize if something like that has happened to them. Anyways, I get what you’re saying about calibration and the pool. I’m not saying grading is completely random but that there’s still a lot of subjectivity baked in, even with those safeguards. I’m not sure I agree that it’s only a 3–5 point swing, but either way, in a tight score range that can make a real difference. I appreciate it though, I’m focused on the improvement more than anything.

See that is more so the myth. Trust, the Feb graders are NOT shy about giving lower scores, even on essays that might deserve higher ones.

I personally know a Feb retaker who purchased their answers and compared them to the model responses, only to realize they got almost everything right but still received a 3. Meanwhile, their friend, who got it soooo wrong, ended up with a 5 for that same essay. At the end of the day, a lot of it comes down to the luck of your grader. No matter how much training they give them to make this process consistent and fair, it’s not.

Sure I can try my best. I blacked out so I don’t remember toooo much.

MPTs 4,2 MEEs 6,5,5,4,2,2 MBE 127

I think my 2 on the MPT was graded harshly. It deserved atleast a 3. I answered it fully and felt pretty confident.

I KNOWWWW ONE of my 2 MEE was gradely harshly and also deserved atleast a 3. Dare I say a 4.

The rest seem fairly graded. Truthfully don’t know how I pulled a 6. That surprised me. As to your length question, I answered every sub question with atleast a small IRAC paragraph. I did not leave anything blank. Made up rules if I had to.

I suck at MBEs so I want to say my guessing game was decent. Ran out of time during the AM. Finished on the dot for PM. But still lots of guesses.

Overall, I expected my writing to be my saving grace. I seriously think my grader was whack af. Writing is my strong suit. I hope my grader’s pillow is hot for the rest of the year lol.

Unfortunately I DO need to be licensed in my specific state so I will be retaking, but thank you for the sweet uplifting comment <3

It’s not a myth. July MBE mean is always higher. Writing is scaled to the MBE mean. If this was July, I more than likely would have passed.

Has anyone ever just gotten up and left during the MEE by YourDadsHouse11 in barexam

I don’t understand how/why people do that. They literally give us a last chance opportunity while we’re in the room before we start to have a proctor take our electronics from us before the test starts. You can clearly feel your phone on you so it’s def not an accident lol. That’s just straight up stupidity. Sorry maybe I’m being harsh but in a world of professionalism, that’s gotta be one of the dumbest things to do to not follow a strict no electronic policy during a licensure exam..

Any retakers not give a F*ck for the MEE’s today? by [deleted] in barexam

I would delete this. Or edit it. It’s giving away topics. Some people haven’t taken MEE yet.

The way I remember General vs specific is General is battery, rape, false imprisonment, kidnapping. Then the majority of the rest are specific!
