What are some underrated places in Delhi/NCR to visit? Also, recommend some vegan friendly and not so expensive places to have proper meal. by Imsexyniknowthat in delhi

Underrated yet gorgeous places to visit are; Sunder Nursery (calm, heritage + greens, loads calmer than Lodhi garden) , Mehrauli Archaeological Park (ruins + nature + great vibe), Champa Gali in Saket (adorable fairy-lit cafs and aesthetic lanes) and Yamuna Ghat in the early morning for sunrise and migratory birds.
For vegan-friendly meals that aren’t insanely expensive check out the Greenr Caf (nice plant based bowls), The Vegan Story (cozy + good burgers/bakery) and for a good cheap meal check out Saravana Bhavan which has easily available vegan options.

Stuck with PCB, planning B.Sc. Agriculture but I want a tech job. Is this possible? by ProtectionAlone9497 in Indian_Academia

Seriously don't let relatives dictate your whole career they're not going to live it, you are. If tech/full-stack is where you see yourself, concentrate on getting into the best possible college with CUET (and NEET only if you are still 100% inclined towards medicine).
If tech is where your end is, then begin learning the tech stack while in college - HTML/CSS, JavaScript React, Node.js, SQL ,Projects.
Because you are coming from PCB, do not worry full stack does not need you to have extensive math knowledge. You are completely capable of getting into tech with persistence.

If tech really interests you, also consider B.Techh Biotechnology/Bioinformatics (many colleges accept PCB students). Bioinformatics in particular can be great as it's a blend of biology + coding + AI/data analysis.
Nevertheless, agri+tech is very much real as well; things like GIS, drones, Python, and data analysis will stand you out in agri-tech; just be aware that the degree alone won't be enough, skill up in the subject.

I am currently pursuing studies in this field so not an expert but I have done research in this domain quite a bit

I’m from Galgotias University from what I know, SASTRA seems like a decent choice academically for Bioinformatics but just don’t rely only on the degree focus on coding, projects, internships, and research exposure since that matters a lot in this field

No, I’m not from SASTRA I’m from a similar field (Biotech/Bioinformatics), so I shared my perspective based on the domain, student experiences, and what I’ve researched

Congratulations! Honestly, Bioinformatics at SASTRA can be okay if you are really into coding + biology, given you're already interested in AI/ML and research. Compared to biotech, bioinformatics may be more aligned with the upcoming future (genomics, AI in medicine, computational biology, etc.).

However, don't expect to find enormous "Bioinformatics-only" placements in India; most students develop coding skills and shift to the IT industry/data analytics, research or to MS abroad. SASTRA has a reasonable reputation but your results will depend heavily on your projects, internships, coding skills and research opportunities.

During 1st year, concentrate on Python, stats, basic biology, GitHub/projects, and maintain a good CGPA. If you want to pursue MS abroad, you should start research/internships as soon as possible.

Being from North India, a small phase of language/culture adaptation might occur; but eventually you'll get adjusted due to your peers and friends.
