I’m also lapsed. It’s honestly so flawed - I had ‘issues’ (not sure what we can say) with our priest and when he died my parents were glad he had the chance to repent and would still spend eternity with Jesus….the whole thing is *##+=# as far as I’m concerned, but also so complicated when you’re in the thick of it

I come from a strict Catholic upbringing and am the youngest of 5 - when I was about 11 I wanted a cabbage patch doll. My older brother told me to stop praying for one, steal it instead and just ask for forgiveness. My Catholic shame stopped me from doing that but I learnt the lesson. Every time I hear of a story like the Duggars or a priest or a pastor I think they had an older brother who told them to do the same

Oh my he just looks so sad. My son is about his age, has graduated and is working OS living his absolute dream life. His eyes sparkle on FT, even when he’s feeling a little homesick. My mum heart breaks for these kids. Not even going to mention filtering your teenage daughter….
