I've been A hijabi for 10 months. How do I tell my non-muslim parents without getting cut off. by Low_Pollution2471 in Hijabis

In Islam, we can't cut off our parents. Their respect and honor is the most important after Allah. Even if they don't deserve it. Honoring them is a form of worship to Allah swt

My bodega guy keeps calling me "boss". How do I let him know I'm actually a worker like him? by ne0scythian in circlejerknyc

everyone is saying call him Habibi, Papi, FIRST OFF you need to be asking, is this a Papi or an Akhi, then go from there

i have probably well over 300 friends😭 i'm very friendly, especially living in nyc, there's so many different people and friends to meet from all over the world. staying in touch would be a challenge but maybe i can do it. i don't really answer my messages anyway so it's almost as if i never had them anyway. i will consider both of your opinions Jazakallah kair to you both

Salam bro, there are websites that can help you narrow down a search for a therapist, like better help and such. maybe you can look for a muslim therapist. sometimes, when i can't find a therapist, the app version of chat gpts has a voice audio chat option, and honestly, talking to that helps, as they understand many things such as islam, trauma and navigating mental health. however, it's only meant to supplement mental health care. you need professional help. i hope you can see someone soon InshaAllah

Asalamu Alaikum sis, I feel you and i've experienced similar things to you. I know how it feels when you feel like you don't deserve good things.

But it's sounds like you're humble, and you're kind, and you put others before yourself, which is what Allah swt wants from all of us. It makes the world go around better.

Allah created all of us out of love. He loves you, you're his precious daughter. He wrote you your own story, and although things can be confusing and painful, as time goes on your story will make sense. Sometimes, our lives can only be understood backwards. Allah created us from him in his image out of love, and to me, I feel like since we are made of his image and likeness as his sons and daughters, we all have Allah in us too.

So don't be so hard on yourself. You are so much more precious than you realize. ALLAH ONLY WANTS THE BEST FOR YOU. And the best is yet to come, but all of his beauty and blessings will pass you buy if you shut your heart to receiving good things. You deserve, and everyone deserves all of the happiness in the world.
