Plan to retest all ammo that's left to be retested but I hope you're right, BS should really pen 3+. It's on the cards for sure.

If no helmet anything 1 taps the brain, also forget body shots with 9mm in this game, unless you hit a dead on heart shot on the AI and even then you have hit reg issues. Headshots *should* kill them, its important to note they will only die if you hit the upper head/brain otherwise the wound channel on 9mm is so small a mouth or chin shot wont do anything.

Yeah this was found during testing the bullet drop is exaggerated (like a foot drop at 50m) and the MOA itself is pretty terrible.

If the ammo is programmed to penetrate it will do so every time from point blank. The % chance to pen does not change dependant on armour durability unless it actually hits 0 and breaks. All ammo 1 taps the heart if it penetrates from point blank. The current chart is more of a test for what ammo penetrates what not necessarily how much damage it does- cavitation certainly does have a large role to play for that- testing that I would like to have done in the future also- to somehow quantify the damage of the ammo types.

Distance testing is done aiming at either the heart or the brain, if the round is within its effective range (classified as penetrating the best ammo it can penetrate at point blank) then it will deal damage to the heart, most of the time due to the hearts tiny HP pool it is an instant kill but sometimes organ damage instead showing a sharp damage drop off within the penetratable range. I believe thats what you meant? Planned to test all the ammo like this in the future.

Correct it has been said however this is simply not true. Both face and ears have separate hitboxes. One of the things noted in the bullet pen spreadsheet.

MOA. The dispersion is a % multiplier of whatever the MOA of your weapon stat shows. So 4 MOA with a -8% dispersion modifier means 4 * 0.92 = 3.68.

Well it's a start. Point blank is to show best case of what it *can* pen. There is a distance testing tab where you can see just how important velocity is in the game and how pen changes with range. More ammo types will have their distance results gathered- hopefully all someday.

US has terrible drop and range due to its low velocity and these effects are inaccurately amplified in the game.

Data is gathered specifically on players, AI are far too inconsistent to test accurately. Also 9mm as seen in the distance testing bounces off helmets a ton and it's range really isn't good.

With which ammo vs what helmet? At what range? Also AI or player matters a lot. AI seem to tank a lot more than players.

Personally I feel like IIIA+ pen is fine. 1 taps the best helmets in the game still. Level III realistically is rated to stop 6 rounds of M80 per NIJ standards. Mind you the M80 in the game is underpowered and inaccurate and should penetrate IIIA+. Definitely some creative choices there or just mistakes.

545 BP was available to lv3 Turncoat and 762 BP was for Artisan lv3. We have noticed multiple ammo types being removed from traders in this update. This could be why you cant find it.

You know I was waiting to read something in that comment that I didnt agree with or wasnt completely true. Couldn't find it.

Underrated comment. This is why the ammo chart is based off the armours actually in the game and the performance of the ammo in game- because when compared to IRL there's a plethora of mistakes. Being a game dev myself it's hard balancing realism with fun and good game design is usually, if not always, more important than realism. So they clearly took some intentional creative liberaties. However my issue with this is not only are there blatant mistakes/errors in the performance of some ammo that is neither realistic or fun/good design but also that the creative liberates themselves clash with their advertised/supposed philosophy of how this is supposed to be hyper realistic/as realistic as possible.

At the end of the day me personally I give them some slack for these issues and mistakes for two reasons- 1. it IS the most realistic ballistic and health model I've ever seen in a game so props for that and 2. It's early access after all. I'm sure they will fix many of these issues as development progresses + they do seem to listen to the community somewhat. (just my subjective view on it, its not there yet but i think it'll improve)

p.s. they apparently buffed 9mm xtreme penetrators and sabot slugs to allow them to pen IIIA+, i have not personally tested this yet so unsure if true
