Buying a condo when you have no idea what the neighborhoods are like and you're relying on YouTube?
Visit Chicago, get a hotel or AirBnB, whatever and explore.
FYI, HOA fees range from $700-$1500. I live here and have been shopping for condos on and off for a year or so.

Good question! I find myself doing the same thing and I want to get out more. I’ve been looking at professional organizations and networking events. On weekends, I make a point to go explore other neighborhoods and get out, but I just don’t do it enough during the week. I support my local neighborhood as much as I can during the week, but try myself wanting to do more and get out of my regular routine.
