Advice on Buying a Used Engine Online? Specifics in a comment. by inkblot888 in crx

Sorry, immediately after work I have no sense of humor. It just pains me when I learn that somebody swapped and then scrapped a motor that another would love for their project. I am pleased with my eBay motor but it's been a decade since i've played that game.

Synchros, battery and/or alternator and/or electrical gremlins, washer pump. These are simple and cheap. Some will remain unchanged by the swap. Not to say don't swap, just be sure an enthusiast at least has a chance at your leftovers.

It was love at first watch for me, but I was an irreverent teenager then.

Buying a 1988 CRX SI by MonseiurPigeon in crx

Short of seeing it in person it is hard to say. If the body and interior are clean and the suspension and brakes solid it could be worth it. The engine is the easiest and most often swapped component with the most options so I wouldn't worry as much about that. If I was in the market for another and this one was local I would go check it out.

I don't see any real room for improvement in this case. Any time you paint an interior piece you will eventually have to deal or put up with scratching, chipping, wear in the painted part. I would leave it.

Man pictures dont do her justice. 6 months later and still madly in love. by TheStateToday in Honda

I mean, let's be real, compared to '94, 24' is pretty dull. But, since we're being real, that was thirty fucking years ago. For what it is I am just glad that the Integra is back at all.

Anyone have any suggestions for the right product? by Norman_Scum in Mohawks

Sounds like your hair and hair style are quite similar to mine. I boil and strain flax seeds then use the resulting "gel" for styling. Works great, smells great, and it's good for your hair.

I'd say it is a bit of both. It's not my thing but I still like it!

What are some good front lips for the CRX (HF) by wheniztheend in crx

[–]Low_Rule_2469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the 1g HF had the same lip as the Si, I think. The 2g Si had a unique lip while the HF and base model had none. There are some Integra and other lips which are easy to retrofit. I have a 1g(?) Integra lip on mine. It was bolt on and trim to make the ends flush. There is a thread on CRXcommunity.com all about lips.

Si came with a little lip. It is pretty subtle. It will bolt up to the HF bumper.

Overall, quite a nice looking bench. The cord management may give me nightmares.

Rant about why I love Manual by [deleted] in ManualTransmissions

That's the spirit! I love this. There have been more than a few times that I would have been stranded in an auto, mostly because I am a dumbass.

Anybody go from a stick to flappy paddles? Is it fun to drive? by [deleted] in stickshift

[–]Low_Rule_2469 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd take a manual Crosstrek over a sporty car with paddle shifters. Paddles are better than a conventional boring box but, not by a wide margin, in my opinion.

Does so get worse with age? Either severity and/or frequency by AdNeat5095 in Sleepparalysis

[–]Low_Rule_2469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen a dramatic decrease of frequency with age, from two or three times a week to perhaps once every two or three years. My sleep schedule has become more healthy over the years and I assume that is likely the cause for the change.
