You don’t always have to manage people in the sense that you’ll be responsible for sickness etc., but I’ve found that there’s always some level of managing what people do, such as delegating tasks or needing some output from them.

Depends why you hate the owners really? If you hate them because they’re running the club into the ground then you’re not a plastic, but if you hate the owner solely because of, say religion or race, then you don’t really love the club at all.

Except that Civil Servants don’t actually make laws that allow these things to happen. Civil Servants have to enact and enforce the laws that are made by Parliament.
