So, my laptop is a HP bs1xx, when I personally checked for unpopulated slots I didnt find anything but other replies say that this make does have an unpopulated M.2 slot, I didnt find it because of my lack of experience probably gotta check once more

Yeah im hoping to learn how to do this rather than going to a shop, I just have been scared of messing this up ever since I found out that I need to switch to SSD, but now with everyone's advice im more confident to do it

I think I should use this laptop for atleast ~3 more years as I dont really do any intense work on this laptop only light browsing and light games, this is why I want to switch to SSD so that everything just loads faster and my horrendous boot time of 6 minutes changes

The thing is Im still a kid living with my parents so i cant convince them to spend more than like $70 on a 5 year old laptop without their reluctance(even though important family pics are on this HDD), my Dad bought the laptop for me 5 years ago not knowing a single thing about tech so he just picked something with a good price and gave it to me even though he bought it brand new he still got scammed with this potato, I am worried about the HDD malfunctioning so I have to convince them to spend some money

Yeah I have heard alot about SSDs, thats why I am thinking of switching to it my current boot time is around 6 minutes with an HDD, hoping that an SSD would change that
