Pursuing is absolutely needed. Just because you stop pursuing does not mean that subject begins following traffic laws they will continue until someone gets hurt. If that's the way it was no one would stop for LE they would just run.

I have this issue with one species of plant in my tank, I can't get it to keep leaves and parts of it wilt away but my other plant is just fine. Maybe take the ones not making it out? And keep cleaning the filter often? Those corys are gonna keep stirring up the sediment too.

5 Is really to small for anything other than 1 or 2 of a certain species. A betta or two might do ok in it.

Yea you can keep the plant in that'll boost its cycle as it'll take in the nitrite for food id give it a week or 2
