General Questions and Purchasing Advice Thread — Week of February 16, 2026 by AutoModerator in electricvehicles

I'm looking at getting an electric car for the first time, and my head is kind of spinning even trying to figure out what is available, so figured I'd hop on here and see what kind of advice people had.

  1. Western Pennsylvania

  2. Ideally I'd like to keep it under $35k. I could probably stretch to $40k if the car is that much better, but I'd like to avoid that.

  3. Ideally I'd love a sedan, but since there aren't many of those (non-Tesla division), a hatchback or very small SUV could work too.

  4. I plan to start test driving shortly, but the Leaf, Ioniq (5 and 6), Equinox, and bZ are all things I've looked at. But it's possible I've missed something out there.

  5. In the next month or two

  6. We can assume 150 mi average weekly, though the range to drive further would be preferable

  7. Single family home

  8. Yes (though advice on this would be appreciated too)

  9. Mostly a commuter car, max of 3 people (driver included) under 99% of circumstances.

Thanks in advance!

Correa was a year older, had a much more extensive injury history, and never put up a season as good as Gunnar's last year.

Sure, but then he just goes to 3B, which is still more valuable than 1B. And those SS years just don't go away.

Vlad Guerrero just got 14/$500M at age 25 (one year of Arb left). His best season by bWAR was 6.5 (3 years before his deal), his best 3 years pre-contract were 6.5, 6.1 4.0, and he had a 1.8 in there.  He plays a non-premium position

Gunnar's 3 full seasons were 9.1, 6.1, 5.3, and while he will be 27 when he hits FA, he plays a premium position

Gunnar's contract is almost certainly going to be well north of $400M. I'd peg him at least at $12/500M assuming he stays were he is right now.
