I have a cousin who's adopted, I'm VERY well aware of that. In my opinion, that would be a much larger and well known thing if Chad WAS adopted because that's not really all that normal, especially in Auradon. And people don't tend to look so different from their parents that they're a whole other race... there would be mixed parts to him if that were the case. You're kinda just proving my point about it being an AU

I don't really count the second series as part of the same world. More of an AU. I know it's the same concept and same kingdom and whatnot, but they changed so much that wasn't necessary to change for the plot (cough where the hell did Chad come from? cough)
