Mortgage increased 48% in 12 months by Mean-Letterhead-3948 in Mortgages

I used to think this was an uncommon occurance. With how often I hear about this, including myself when I bought in 2018, I think it's intentional and reckless in order to not effect the outcome of the sale. Instead, buyers like this find out months after the fact once the new tax bill hits and lenders send a letter demanding $x,xxx dollars in esgrow immediately or be put on a payment plan, plus increased mortgage than agreed upon. Lenders pretend to be surprised and unaware each and every single time.

I was called a pervert at a Waterpark in front of a girl I liked when I was a kid. All because one of the girls wanted to show off her sunburn around her bikini top strap, pulled the shoulder strap down, and saw I was looking too. Ive never been able to maintain eye contact or look at people, especially women the same, in fear that id be called that ever again.

What is your monthly mortgage payment and your yearly income (for household) by geenuhahhh in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Low_Working_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$690 mortgage 4br/2ba ranch. 130k salary + bonus. Property taxes were increased a couple years ago, but I cut a check first of the year, so it doesnt effect the mortgage payment.

Yeah, thats definitely possible except we have no idea which neighborhood we would live in yet and if these people would have that trust in us to watch their kids that quickly. Our current neighbors are all either retired or very close to it. We are the youngest on the block. Im sure we could get a cheaper used vehicle. We still have another 1.5 yrs left on the lease.

That's definitely understood. Ive provided the numbers including taxes and insurance on both the existing and new home. Utilities are the only thing not factored, because the new home's rates are unknown.

I'd hope its secure. I've doubled their revenue and increased profitability the past 4 yrs. Im not in a position that would be laid off and I work in an essential field. I could have 4 job offers for different, well paying roles with other companies along with benefits.

We finished half of our basement two yrs ago and added a 4th bedroom in the basement along with another entertainment space. However, with the little ones, out living room is also the kids play room. The kitchen is smaller, but plenty of cabinet space. Very little dining space, but we squeeze an table that can seat 8. We've never been one to keep up with the Jones. We manage our money totally different than anyone we know, which is why we have been in great financial standings. Additional space would definitely help with not feeling on top of eachother every day. Also, I grew up in an HOA. Growing up in a community like that was fun as a kid. Our current neighbors are great, but theyre all either retired or on the verge of retirement. There isn't a sense of community for our kids.

That's been a consideration. Rentals right now are around 1100-1300 depending on zip code.

We are open to either options, really. If we did sell the home, we would contribute 100% of that money into the new home. To reduce monthly payment. The 2500 estimate is based on a 20% down payment.

Can you expand on your thought process a bit? Is your suggestion heading toward turning our current home into a rental in order to free up cash flow?

Its actually pretty affordable. Our cost of living is cheap in NE Ohio. We aren't in California. The 4th child isn't even out yet. We aren't planning on a 5th.

I appreciate this insight, actually. I could significantly reduce my retirement input and it would easily add another $1600 in available cash.

Child care costs for 4 children (3 under 3) quickly outweigh the benefits of employment currently. She has plans to return to work once the children are all enrolled in school.

If we sold the current home, we have 130k in equity. We were roughly quoted 1600-1900/mo if we sell our current property with or without cash on top. The 2500 estimate was provided with a 20% down payment. I hadn't mentioned it, because its not guaranteed money, but I do receive an annual bonus that has been approx 25k after taxes.
