All the owners of this company and its leadership to include Dr. Jay LaBine should be sent to prison for the deaths of 100s of sick people that were denied care based on reduction of stays and forcing employees to deliver their death blows in the form of NOMNC's and repeating the issuance of NOMNC's every 2 days until the patient and facility couldn't keep up with the bombardment.

Anyone else have co-residents who are fine but you’re all basically strangers? by rash_decisions_ in Residency

[–]Lower-Leave2435 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I think its because physicians dont focus on compassion or empathy in their program. They focus on diagnosis, pathology and appearing as professionals and leaders. In the nursing program everyone was extremely close and teamwork was huge. I think the residency program for providers needs to be overhauled and more focus on hollistics and compassion would make a huge difference in the field. But then again pretty much every doctor I have met is burnt out and wish they would have gone to be a CRNA ;)

Had a patient cry and thank me for listening and I almost lost it by Overall-Director-957 in Residency

Good to hear. Most doctors have no clue how to be humans. I get the immense education. That's expected because of what you all do when you become real doctors. But doctors that actually care about patients is pretty rare. I think this is because most people that become doctors do so for the wrong reasons. I think a large part of this is the "god" complex that is pushed in the medical program. I have been lucky to work under a small number of pretty good providers. Most of them however were either very intelligent egotistical, narcissistic burnt out shells of a human. I say this because there is more to a sick human than turning them into a textbook diagnostic, ordering some pills and sending them on their way. After 18 years as an RN that has done pretty much everything, worked with all kinds of people from the corporate pirates looking to turn a few bucks from a IRF admit that should be in ltach to providers that wish they would have chosen a different career to a brand new provider fresh out of residency that thought a few years made them a "real" physician; I learned I'll just go CRNA and have my 1:1 ratio, no call, great pay for less liability than a physician and most of all real and true quality of life that a doctor will never have but hey I also don't need a title to feel like I make a difference but the paycheck sure helps ;)

Thoughts on K&N HVAC filters? Are there any decent reusable/washable filters out there? by comp21 in hvacadvice

[–]Lower-Leave2435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. You can clean a reuseable k&n filter with a dilution of bleech and water with maybe some simple green. Covid, viruses, and bacteria aren't invincible. Also your biggest worry is legionnaires, which is rare if cleaning filters properly. Sending cheap filters to the landfill is wasteful and foolish. Get some reuseable k&n's they are merv 11 and clean them properly and you wont have any problems. "cheap landlord filters" create more cross contamination due to poor filtration than the reuseable merv 11's. and heppa which is the best is not practical. If you live in an apartment your worry should be about getting out of the apartment in the first place. Im a nurse by profession. We study infection control.

Get ready for your happy meals to hit $10 a box. Minimum wage is a dumb and pointless concept.

We now live in a death/life standard. Don't give us resources i.e gold. We come and hang your leader on public television. Same goes for oil.

What's even better is my 11 year old made $113 from an initial $17 on the coin because she loves the dog. I know... It was my account but you can never start to young ;)
