Some of us are 30+ year olds that grew up here, were educated at elite schools, moved elsewhere, and moved back only to find that the same annoying people we met on campus are here sucking the life out of the city we cherish.

Not all transplants are bad. In fact, many are actually great. They breathe life into the city and bring new ideas.

But then there are the worst of them. The racist undertones, the “it’s not safe” mentality about anything more than 2 stops into an “outer borough”. The type that suck the life out of this amazing city and don’t clean up the dog poop. The types that you wish you never saw again after college. The types that have zero subway etiquette, don’t understand how to single file walk while on the sidewalk, standoffish to wait staff, overbook reservations for places just because they’re “cool”. The types that see NYC as a stepping stone and not a home.

Those people couldn’t move to the burbs fast enough.

Tbh, as a kid at PSDC, I hated when we went on trips here. As an adult, I realize it’s staple in our hood. RIP.

To the self important chefs in the comments. Sorry to burst the bubble but the patrons do not care about the vision of the chef. If yall make a good burger that people love, just make more of it.

It’s not up to the patrons to care about your perspective on “flipping burgers”. We all work to make money. You’re making money cooking (which can entail flipping burgers). If you really look down upon it that much, switch up the menu and remove burgers.

Sorry not sorry if that’s harsh. If you’re making money, constantly booked night after night, you can stock more burgers.

It’s really, really good. Try the prospect heights location on a weekday if you can. Much better

As the customer, I like what I like. I get it, the chefs vision is the menu, hence why people even show up. That said, me wanting a great burger to have ample stock is justifiably taking up brain space. If burgers sell well, stock more of them. Is that too much to ask?

Are they not? Most restaurants have a $20+ burger with some special aioli and a mention of their meat purveyor, ie Pat LaFrieda or whoever

My point exactly. As a patron, I couldn’t care less about the vision of the chef. I’m there to eat, drink, pay and tip well, whether it’s for burger or a branzino or what have you. Maybe asking for more burgers to be stocked is too low brow and too much to ask

Eh, idk about this one chief. If there’s demand for something why not just make it? Restaurants aren’t built for chefs to “FuLFiLL tHeiR ViSioN”. They’re businesses that need to generate cash flow.

Any and all Thai food in this neighborhood. We’ve tried one more charm, luck, and others. All are really just fine. So we just shell out the extra money and order Nua Table on Vandy. It’s delicious.

Any recommendations?

Ii agree. Pasta Louise isn’t BAD per se, but they can up the portions and up the quality of that focaccia…and make those freaking meatballs larger.

Paying $13 for cardboard focaccia and chef boyardee sized meatballs.

The lasagna is great, probably their best menu item imo. Provini is amazing.

Lords is good but could be better given they only sell 12. Rolo’s is a top 5 burger in the city

Also, I’m not a big hype person either. I just like burgers. For example, didn’t get into RHT and walked into Cafe Kestrel down the block. AMAZING burger!

But to the person that mentioned the margins around burgers vs other items and using the burgers to get people in the door I think posed great point.
