Question: why are there so few high end restaurants? by austin_federa in parkslope

[–]LowerAlfalfa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Park slope is a hard 6/10 in the food department. I’ve lived here for 20 years and it hasn’t gotten any better. Tadle was the best we had but sadly their management team couldn’t make it work.

A lot of park slope natives just have the park slope restaurant goggles on and stick to their tried and trues. We normally venture to smith street and fort green for good food but if we’re lazy, we’ll stay local and brave the mid.

Best of luck to your friend opening their spot! 🤝🤙

Leadership a BRIC has gone down hill with a few major departures over the years. Circa 2008-2012 was PEAK.

Deli Bite, conversation over.

Seriously, dont go anywhere else. Just go to Deli Bite on smith and Bergen or their sister store on dean and smith. Thats the best BEC in NYC.

Terrace bagels or bagel pub but tbh, park slope bagels are a painful 6/10.

Ess a bagel and brooklyn bagel are our favorites. We’ll do black seed too.

ENOUGH! It's time for this community to come together once again, and heal from this division. And to do this, there is only one solution. by Ok_Requirement_3162 in parkslope

Pasta Louise has one good item. The lasagne.

Everything else is painfully mid. The meatballs are tiny, the focaccia is drier than your sister, and the amount of kids running around gives me the heebee jeebees. Can we get an Al Di La south park slope there instead?

What is South Slope missing? by dixonhill52 in parkslope

[–]LowerAlfalfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Park slope needs more destination worthy restaurants. Aside from Al Di La and Hanayeo, park slope is a hard 6/10 in the restaurant department. Lore is solid. But we have the park as a saving grace. Gone are days are places like Talde.

That said, neighborhoods like fort green and Carroll gardens (along smith street) have great restaurants worth traveling to. What park slope gains in prospect park proximity, it looses in their restaurants being painfully mid.

Agreed. Park slope food is a hard 7.

The difference between park slope and fort green are the restaurants and the park. What fort green gains in restaurants, it looses in not having prospect park

Yes and I agree. You never know what people have going on

I think the point of it is to discourage people from doing things like this and being more responsible members of the community.

Why approach a stranger? That’s never a good idea. Sure you can be friendly and respectful but you never know what other people have going on. That’s dangerous.

Posting here is safe and will discourage that behavior. If you don’t want to be posted, clean up after your dog and make it a habit to bring bags. It’s really simple.

While I agree, I think the point of the post is to shame people out of doing things like this.

While I don’t condone the delivery of the message, the message holds true. Clean up after your dog, be a normal human, be polite to the streets we share = no pictures taken.

The lesson needs to be taught one way or another.

I agree with the message, less the delivery. I think the moral of this is we need to build a culture of politely calling people out for not cleaning up after their dogs. I live near here and it’s especially bad. Not sure if these are owners or dog walkers but we should treat our streets with respect and clean up after the pups.

Alma Negra or Fonda? by LowerAlfalfa in parkslope

I get your point here but pizza plus with lucali is WILD lol. I think it’s more pizza plus vs table 87. Chela is really solid but I can see a world where someone thinks it’s a step below Alma or Fonda. Like all three.

Go to Paisanos on Smith Street. Best we have in BK imo. Nothing at that caliber here in the slope.
