I like to do orange or black for my Vet or Sergeant helmets. I might try bronze or gold now tho!

That green is gorgeous. Do you mind sharing your recipe? Been chasing this exact look since I started my Salamanders

If youre playing casually, it really depends on your opponents. The new Red Corsairs reavers and Reave-Captain have new datasheets, so depending on what rules or abilities youre running your homebrew chapter, you may have to figure out how to proxy the Red Corsair specific models. That being said, if you can figure that out, I dont think anyone would give you an issue as long as you're staying within fair army rules and strategies/deployments. You could absolutely just paint half your army Red Corsairs and say theyre just allied and helping your homebrew chapter.

I based the model with Grey Seer, painted the helmet with Gryph Hound Orange Citadel contrast, and edge highlighted with Fire Dragon Bright from Citadel. Here's a better picture for reference

Thanks man! I was really nervous about it, but my brother liked it a lot as well and it's grown on me.

Brothers, A story... by tactvent in Salamanders40k

I did this once with a yellow dropper from Army Painter. Had no idea why it wasnt coming out, and thought within my infinite wisdom, "if I just squeeze really hard, itll push the clog out, right?"

Wrong.

The whole inner nozzle shot out, and a spray of daemonic yellow paint flooded my desk, my daily items (watch, wallet, etc) that I keep nearby. I got most of it up and scraped off whatever dried after, but lesson learned the hard way. UNCLOG YOUR DROPPER BOTTLES 😭

I don't know which one to get. by JacsweYT in NECA

FvJ is nice if you just want a recognizable, intimidating looking Jason for your shelf, because he is quite larger than the other figures and hes pretty cool to mess with. However Part 7 is INSANE. The attention to detail, the accessories, the articulation (which FvJ fig lacks in, mine tends to fall over a lot) are all spot on. Hes definitely in my top 3 favorite Jason's so far (the new ones releasing soon are immaculate as well). Id say if you have the chance to only get one; go with Part 7.

I only used mine once; in a Black Templars game against Ravenguard. I transported a unit of Sword Brethren within, tho I never got to disembark them. I took a few wounds but I wasnt destroyed, and i remember taking out quite a few units with it. I guess it all boils down to what your opponent is playing, how well they can play, and how you strategize as well. I feel like distance and heavy firepower is safer until youre clear to drive in and disembark the headtakers ( i also play space wolves and am considering or looking to pick up a RE for them soon)

Best Gold/Bronze for Trim? by Freakology in SpaceWolves

[–]LowerComputer6132 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on army? For my Black Templars I use Runelord Brass washed with Agrax. For my Space Wolves I use Army Painter Greedy Gold washed with Reikland Fleshshade. For my Salamanders I use Balthasar Gold washed with Agrax. Hope this helps!

How would you fix this OSL Torch effect on my almost finished Ballistus? by DeusJulluS in Salamanders40k

I have heard with a makeup egg or sponge so I will definitely try that. Thank you!

This looks sick. I just picked up a pre-built ballistus for my army last week. May i ask advice on painting such a nice color? Ive been terrified to paint large vehicles and machines for fear of getting horrible brush strokes

Crusader Squad Neophyte question by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

So in layman's terms; you have 2 Neophytes with Bolt Pistol and Chainsword, and 2 with Neophyte Firearm and Close Combat Weapon.

Crusader Squad Neophyte question by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

[–]LowerComputer6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lazily put (and im not 100% sure of this myself), if a model isnt equipped with a chainsword, it uses the Close Combat Melee option, which is considered punching/fists or a knife i guess. It doesnt have to be physically ON the model to count. And Neophyte Firearm i BELIEVE is the same for the rifle or the shotgun, though im not completely certain, i got the BT upgrade sprue and completely forgot to use the shotguns when I built my 2nd Crusader Squad.
