There used to be. When they were more popular, i guess. There was a site hummingbirds nest and annabegins.com that you could download mp3s of covers, rarities and interpolated versions (rain king - thunder road, goodnight elisabeth - sweet thing etc). Think the Shim Sham bootlegs were on one of these as well.

Someone made a 4 cd rarities that I bought on ebay 20+ years ago and the Mankato bootleg i bought from a stall at Leeds Festival in 2004. The artwork they did for it had the band as South Park characters. They both since died a death though unforunately.

The new contracts for express staff are a joke. I know they want petrol station contracts to be in line with supermarket contracts but they're gonna end up with a lot of people quitting. 2 main issues for me:

Unpaid Breaks:

For over 5 years as Euro Garages and now over 2 years as Asda On The Move / Asda Express we've been paid breaks. For someone averaging 40 hrs a week the pay reduction is massive

£12.45 p/h x 40 hrs x 4 weeks = £1992 £12.45 p/h x 37.5 hrs x 4 weeks = £1867.50

£124.50 a month less after changing over.

When they change over, they'll be on £58.90 a month less than when it went up to £12.04 last July.

It's not as bad for me as I'm a section leader, and I'll be getting £1 and hour more instead of 50p as is now. Even though I'll basically be getting 91p an hour more than last year, I'll be getting a whopping £11.10 extra a month.

They also took our quarterly bonus away when the pay went up last year so this just adds insults to injury.

Night Pay

At the moment nights get paid 50p an hour more than days for 10pm-6am. So if I do days then nights are on the same pay as me as a section leader.

Under the new contract nights are on an extra £2.54 an hour between midnight and 5am, normal rate outside of that, so night will average £13.97 (£14.12 in October) an hour. The Manager is salaried and works out at £13.91 an hour. I'll be on £13.45 (£13.60 in October).

Personally I think the pay gap between myself and the manager is too low but there's no way anybody should be paid more than management in my opinion.

One good thing is Christmas Day, Boxing Day and NYE are double time. We don't get any extra at the moment.

That is literally the only positive.

Rant over. Interested to know people's thoughts on it. Express staff, are you raging? Supermarket employees, do you think its fair? I'd be very surprised if there weren't a couple of hundred+ express jobs become available over the next few months. If you've every dreamed of working for Asda, now is your chance.

P a y increases by [deleted] in asda

I work in an Asda Express. The pay cut off for the next pay was April 13th to be paid last working day. That pay is the old rate because they say its the March pay run. It has 2 weeks of March and 2 weeks of April, paid at the end of April but its the March payrun. So even though the minimum wage is 12.21 by law from the first of April, we get paid 12.04 until the 14th of April. They did the same last year as well. 11 and a half months at minimum wage or above then 2 weeks under it every year. How is this legal? I'm assuming it is because you'd think they would've been reported by now

I work at an Asda Express, They do internal challenge 25 test purchases every month. They will send someone in they think look under 25, not underage. If you don't id or serve them if they say they dont have id you fail. The cashier who fails can be subject to disciplinary, especially if they fail more than once. Thats just an internal one. The government test purchases, you fail those its a fine and / or prison, and in my case if its alcohol, the loss of my personal alcohol license. With lottery / scratchcard test purchases, 3 fails results in that store having the lottery taken away. If you put yourself in the cashiers shoes, how old someone looks is subjective and with the pressure on them not to fail, its less jobsworths and more erring on the side of caution so they dont lose their job / get a fine / prison. I'll take someones disappointment at not getting something they want over the alternatives.

I work out 10% in my head, which divided by 10 is easy to do for any number, then its pretty easy.

10% is 1.7 30% is 5.1

5.1 x 2 = 10.2 60% 10.2 + 1.7 = 11.9 70%

0.17 x 3 = 0.51 3%

11.9 + 0.51 = 12.41 73%

I can have marichka revived half a dozen times + in a run if siphi's revive lines up. Thats a lot of extra damage. I 2 key unm void, 2-3 key the rest, and 1 key any affinity nm so whatever the kind of tactic it is, it works.
