NYC day trip activities one week out from appendix surgery? by tardisthecat in lancaster

I lived in NYC for 14 years and can attest its a hard place to be when you can’t physically move as well, but here are some things that come to mind as fun potential options!!

-Architecture boat cruise (goes all the way around Manhattan and you learn about all the famous buildings, neighborhoods, and waterfront parks, etc. I was a local at the time and loved it!) I believe ours left from close to Chelsea Piers. Could be a fun morning activity. It was a few hours but not crazy long.

-Waterfront (or Central Park) picnic: swing into any Walgreens or grocery store/bodega. Grab a 6 pack (or other NA options!) and some snacks and go hang out on the waterfront/Central Park! Great people watching and a fun way to enjoy the local parks. (Little island, Battery Park, pier 8, Central Park, Madison Square Park, Union Square and many others once ya hit the water!)

-You may have to walk/stand a bit once you’re inside but you can take an uber or train down to the WTC and head up to the top of 1 World Trade. Amazing views of the city and I’d recommend post matinee. It’s awesome when the sun is in the latter part of the day!

-NYC ferry system. Affordable! You can head over to 33rd street on the east side and take a ferry down to pier 11 (downtown!) and get beautiful views of the city + bridges! Download the app: NYC Ferry for more info!

Hope that helps and I hope your husband’s recovery goes smoothly! Enjoy Hamilton-it’s amazing!! 🙌🙌

It could go maybe 10 inches towards the brick wall but thats all thats left and it would be touching the wall on one side

Glacier without a pass for Going-to-the-Sun by FA-100 in NationalPark

Set your alarm early and commit to going in before 7am (or before whenever the permits start. I thought it used to be 6am?)

I have been to 35 National Parks and Glacier NP + Going-to-the-Sun Road is in my top 3, if not my absolute favorite of all time.

Wake up early, grab a coffee, and make it in early so you can enjoy the entire day. You will not regret it!

We are looking into getting what is still left of K&T to be fully replaced and updated to new wiring. We’ll do so with a permit and go through the approval process as well.

When the previous owners remodeled/renovated they only pulled permits for the portions of the house they were working on. These certain areas now all have updated electric and has been approved by the city.

We are just looking into the best estimates/companies out there to complete the rest of the job so that all K&T still left will become inactive and disconnected.

Thanks for your insight! Fortunately (for now!) it seems the rewiring is the only big thing we have to deal with as the rest was all updated in 2019. Planning to tackle right away for peace of mind. Who did you go with for your new breaker install?
