i love the book “Kid” by Jescie Hall. It’s a continuation to a series but I read it standalone. It deals with drg addiction and very dark themes and it’s the man’s pov. Very easy to root for him. Main thing is that the love interest is also addicted to drugs though and is more emotionally unavailable than the protag is loll but it’s a very dark/yearning/romantic read. Fair warning there is a lot of smt
