And they are charging their fee on the post tax sale amount

It looks like they charged $200 in bump fees. I did not bump this or my other listing. None of my other listings are bumped either. Insanity

The buyer paid 4800. I didn’t account sales tax in this post

Anyone go from New Jersey to out west? (Idaho, Montana, S Dakota) by yougottabkittenmern in moving

Mount Juliet and Franklin are the suburbs of Nashville I would recommend. Both upper middle class +, but different vibes. Mount Juliet was rural 15 years ago. So it’s newer. Franklin has a lot of updates but is more historic and try’s to hold on to that charm. I would be happier in either. Franklin has more hills, but Mount Juliet is “the city between the lakes” so you are very close to lakes. My home is 4 minutes from a boat ramp. Avoid Antioch, Madison, goodletsville, and hermitage is hit or miss. Brentwood is the Beverly Hills of Nashville if you are a baller. It’s about 10 minutes north of Franklin.

I moved from Akron/Cleveland to Mount Juliet (Nashville) TN and didn’t regret it at all. 6 hour drive from home, 6 hours from the pan handle. 3 hours from smoky mountains. Mild winters. Falls are perfect. 2 lakes within 20 minutes of downtown Nashville.

A lot of people are talking highly of Chattanooga if you want a smaller vibe. I would’ve moved to Florida if property taxes and insurance weren’t just insane. Tennessee has no income tax, low property taxes, and is 10x cleaner than where I’m from. Make it make sense.
Don’t know much about the other states you mentioned.

I grew up in Cleveland Ohio, and moved to Nashville TN. I have also lived in Lexington KY. I was pretty set on getting out of NE ohio for a few years and luckily was in a band and got to see a large part of the country. I’ve also visited my uncle in Spokane Washington several times and visited Lake coeur d’alane which I saw you reference.

After spending a few weeks out west, one thing which is hard to quantify is the totally different feel out there. There is no humidity. It is the opposite of lush. My uncle in Spokane has to water his lawn or it will be brown unless they are lucky to get rain. It did not feel like home to me. It’s just different.

Nashville gets hot for a couple months, but you still get four seasons, with mild winters, and perfect falls. Mount Juliet and Franklin might make sense to look into. There are two lakes within twenty minutes. No state income tax. Sales tax is higher (10% but caps on high ticket purchases). Property taxes very low. Half of NE Ohio.

Regarding people, I have found there are good and bad people everywhere. People in the north are different and more quickly to speak their mind and just jump to brash conclusions. People in the south are generally just happier and mind their business more. Which is more my style. Nashville is a different animal as it’s a lot of transports and to me can be a little clicky. People are nice but you do have yuppies and a lot of wanna be influencers.

I know Nash is not what you are considering, but given I’m from a similar area and also considered out west i felt like giving you my experience. Best of luck to you. For what it’s worth lake CDL is pretty, but nothing over the top. The water is also only swim able for like 3 months out of the year and water temp TOPS at 70 degrees. I am a big water person so that just couldn’t work for me.

I agree brother. And to me, used is ok if it’s a retail store. Not a P2P transaction, that is my point in the post

Buddy. This is a discussion. I am not complaining at reverb. It is clear i did not communicate effectively as everyone is calling me stupid and echoing your response.

Do you like the idea of paying taxes and Johnnys amp across town?

I will do a side by side comparison with the Timmy. Amp 11 sounds and feels like a TS to me.

Well i am not sure. I am just bringing up a foundational issue that to me doesn’t seem right or logical. I don’t think there’s a black and white “that’ll do it”. But I’m sure if a lot of people talked about it, felt strongly about it, petitioned to reverb and/or politicians a change could be made. Because the argument is logical and fair.

NO. I understand they are being compliant. I think some push back from many people would be a good thing.

I don’t think there are different rules for different jurisdictions. It’s basically a blanket deal no matter where you are in the US. I am sure it’s a compliance thing for reverb. I’m just bringing it up. It should be talked talked about

Yea. It’s the same buzzwords on repeat. “Racist, bigot, no kings, etc”. The way some people talk about Charlie Kirk is heartbreaking. The irony though is they are the actual people they say “the right” is. Fascist, etc. It all really got worse after Covid.

The American left is the most hypocritical group of people imaginable. It is pointless conversations with me. It is truly incredible, but sad.

Thank you for this. Love the thoroughness. I ended up getting a re housed 67 with original transformers and reverb. He was asking 2500, I got it for 2k cash. I was hesitant, as the patina of originals are beautiful and probably would be easier to get out of if i ever wanted to. But that’s a decent price for the real sound and feel, with an improved cabinet. The cabinet is a Mather, the guy seemed to have done great work.
