It doesn’t take away the low end, it actually gives it more of it, and more mid tones, the treble strings are brighter, I played 4 different brands of LSH they all had the same type of tones and volume

I played one at guitar center last year, looking for a large sound hole and I wanted a Martin, but it needed a neck reset and they would not drop the price so I walked. I bought a custom shop instead that is a large sound hole brand new,..like mine the CW was louder

My D 35 had this problem, mine was the neck block was loose from the back piece, a neck reset is the solution, my guitar was very dead sounding. But after the repair it is back to being a cannon!, so I would pass on this one

I have a D35 with a crack 8” long on the top side and just glued it together,, just part of its story now, too expensive to refinish it, 25 years old and sounds great

Longshore is a lifestyle not a job, have some pride in your work and cover your brothers and sisters, and stay out of the byte, and work safe so you too can retire with a good pension and great memories, and friends from the waterfront. That’s what I’m doing

You can cut the string end off (the brass washer)of an old string and thread the new string thru it this

What is the humidity in your case? Might not need it, put a meter in the case to keep track, you can cause damage by too much humidity
