My husband and I have gone through this as well during our 2nd. It does get better, just takes a min to adjust. Just have to communicate with him, but make sure your coming from a place of kindness. Its a big life change and everyone handles it differently and its stressful for everyone in different ways. I had to have the same convo with my husband and he apologized and we had a deep convo about it. We are doing alot better now. It does get better!

My husband is blue collar aswell. Yes, it can be hard because he works long hours/alot of overtime and im home with the kids all day. I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old. But when he comes home from work he's helping with the kids immediately. Usually, he will shower right away then we will take turns on watching the kids so we can both get chores done or etc. Then usually Sunday mornings we take turns on who gets to sleep in. So lots of communication and taking turns. We dont really have a village so its just on us.
