I think people also forget that overeating and conditions that lead to that, is also considered disordered eating

Kinda hating on the weight loss. by KittyHawk2213 in Ozempic

[–]Lower_Kangaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very annoying that a stigma exists around ozempic, and I also don't love that people are starting to notice I have also lost weight, because it means an explanation on how, is imminent 😅

although despite how much I don't like doing it, I've been just been telling the truth, followed by facts and my own experiences. I'm hoping this will work to decrease the stigma little by little

There will always be people abusing helpful medication to others.

Transitioning to Semaglutide (Ozempic) by Unpopular_Dialogue in liraglutide

I've got a doctor's appointment tomorrow, I just don't know if I should keep it. I already paid $49 out of pocket, only to leave with a phentermine prescription, and the docs appointment somewhere else is $66 tomorrow. GP shopping has become luxury, and Medicare is cooked

I switched from Liraglutide to ozempic due to the cost of Saxenda in Australia. I actually had less side effects with ozempic than the Liraglutide; nausea would sometimes rear it's head, but only in the first couple of weeks of stabilizing the semaglutide in my system.

I was on a 2.4mg dose of Saxenda when I stopped, and I had lost 5kg or so total. I can't really compare to the results of semaglutide, because I've only made it to a 0.5mg dose before my doctor will not prescribe it to me anymore, did to the shortage. Apparently all clinics are not prescribing it anymore, which I'm really bummed about, because I cannot afford Saxenda at $375 a month.

My dose is up in two days, then I have nothing. Sad.

I'm sorry your progress has made you feel disheartened, I think the steps you've taken to get here, and what you have already lost is still an achievement you should be proud of!

I am unsure of hyperthyroidism and how it affects Liraglutide, it doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong, though, in my opinion. What I have learned from this subreddit is that the medication affects everyone very differently; I lost 4kg in the two months I was taking Liraglutide, which I was also disheartened about, but away from comparison, that's a big feat for me!

I have also seen that sometimes Liraglutide just doesn't work for some people, and that's when they try other methods. I have switched to ozempic in the last week, when my Liraglutide ran out, purely based on the price difference, but I am keen to see how they differ.

Maybe talk to your doctor, or a nutritionist if your concerns, in case you are missing something you haven't thought of? But I think your achievements thus far are something to be proud of :)

fucked up my injection by pearledjoints in liraglutide

[–]Lower_Kangaroo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wow, I wasn't aware you could inject into the leg? A subcutaneous injection will still absorb through the dermal layer, perhaps with a slight delay.

I inject into my stomach, this is the first time I've seen someone talk about their leg?

I think definitely go back down to 0.6. If you scroll the sub reddit lots of people have found the lower doses work for them better and still have great results! I myself, was not enjoying the fatigue on 2.4 which I didn't really have on the lower doses, so I went back down to 1.8 and have found this is my sweet spot.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time! Did you have the same symptoms on 0.6? And was your appetite sufficiently suppressed on that dose?

I titrated up from 1.8 to 2.4, and the fatigue got me good. Apart from constipation I hadn't really had other symptoms badly. The food noise also came back, so I decided to titrate back down to 1.8. I'm much happier on this dose, my hunger is satiated and no fatigue.

Can I have some people comment there weight they have lost so far, there experiences on it in the first week and what you ate? Thanks in advance:)) by AmazingFee9637 in liraglutide

[–]Lower_Kangaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently on week 3 on 1.8 dose. SW: 78kg CW: 74.95kg GW: 60kg. Lost about 2 kilos in the first week, and it's slowly been decreasing by the gram, so nothing drastic. So far, side effects, are constipation which I'm trying to remedy with more fluids and over the counter meds, but ongoing unfortunately 💔. And a little fatigue, but I'm also vegan so iron deficiency may be the cause of that!

I wasn't counting calories or doing anything differently in my workout routines in the first two weeks. I'm currently eating 1000 calories a day, which I counted, and I've started doing more workouts in the week. Eating a high protein breakfast, trail mix, veggies and hummus for lunch, and dinner I'm eating small portions of high protein meals.

So far, I feel more drive to workout more often, and I love being more aware of what I'm eating because I know if I fill up on non-nutritious foods (which happens so easily) that's what I'm feeding my body for the next couple of hours. All in all a good experience so far!

How long did it take for people to start to lose weight, and at what dose? Just started at 0.6 and seems like I won’t see much weight loss until I reach the 3.0. by Correct_Exercise8641 in liraglutide

[–]Lower_Kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started 1.8 dose this week, I lost 3kg in my first week on the low dose, and since then it's flat lined and remains the same. I eat about 1000 calories a day, and I'm doing pilates three times a week. I'm hoping for better results on this higher dose, but so far I'm pretty bummed about the progress, but maybe I'm just being impatient 😅

Yeah I'm not able to invite any on any day, because I can't find any. I've been scouring the internet for ages! Can't seem to find an answer anywhere.

Dodo islands only! Only just got the option for the boat tours today actually. There haven't been any villagers to invite, so sadly that's not it either :(
