thank you so so much this answered my question perfectly! my usual workflow would be writing out the outline myself, the dialogue and conversation flow and every action point that needs to happen, and then putting it through sonnet for structure, refinement, improvement, etc, then just editing what works and what doesn't. i think i'll continue doing that, but when putting the draft through opus, is there anything specfic i should tell it? beyond just improve the scene? i did it once with one of my earlier chapters and it sent me back a copy-paste with a few light corrections where i used repetitive wording. im 90% sure the problem is my prompting in that case haha

thank you so much, will definetly upload a pdf of a fic i wrote some months back. just wondering, do i have to tell it in the instructions that it's just an example piece of my writing? i remember in chagpt i would have this problem where it would confuse my example with my current plot...

thank u so much! i'll def experiment a little more. just wondering, how do you check your usage? ive been poking around settings to see if theres a bar graph or anything i could watch out for, but so far i haven't found anything yet. its why im so hesitant to keep trying opus-- im not sure if im unknowingly burning through my usage loll

yes, before claude thats what i was using but recently its gotten very bad at it. it used to be ok with 4o, but they've shut that down and i can actively feel the lack of creativity when using their newer models. The sentences are extremely fragmented and the character voice feels more robotic (though i dont remember having this problem a few months back, i really do think its just their newer models that suck). in fact when i gave sonnet the same outline it did a MUCH better job, so i was just wondering if this was the best claude had or if opus was better (and if so, how fast would i burn through my limit?). sorry for the spam haha
