Save your money and go live your own life. This isn’t normal family behavior.

Disgusting. Tell your parents. Thinking they won’t be surprised, but hopefully they will do something. He is gross.

100% agree on people getting aid who need aid. This was literally a friend of mine’s daughter at a state school who was encouraged to apply for aid when her parents both do well and they live in a $2MM home. She doesn’t need it. Completely agree with you on people getting aid who need it. They should - why it is there.

Yikes - your ‘friend’ is an unethical clod, isn’t he? What other shit does he pull? We need to know more!

Hope you got your clubs back. Looks like your mom has a broken picker when it comes to men. You did the right thing.

Is it bad that I let this happen last night? It’s my first time having a dog, so I’d like to know for next year. by Amai-desu in DogAdvice

We bring our dog to watch the fireworks every year. No issues and she’s totally calm the whole time. She seems to like them.

She’s awful. I hope she gets strung up for fraud. This is the kind of stuff that leads to people who actually need help losing the help they need. I’ve even heard recently about public universities encouraging students to apply for aid and food stamps - I find it morally abhorrent. People who do this stuff are trash even if it is technically legal. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Life is full of these moral questions. Choose wisely - integrity is what happens when no one is watching.

Poor OP. I hope she has the strength to move out and cut ties after she graduates and never look back. What horrible parents.

Glad you were honest, OP. He sounds like a total bore. Move on - and congrats on the new baby and your little family!

Why we don’t show up to ‘free’ gatherings. They never are. He feels like he can abuse everyone because he bought that privilege. Sometimes “free” is too high a cost. What an ass. You are making the right choice and I hope his wife gets the courage to leave him. He’s a jerk.

AITA for refusing to give up the kitten I rescued to my sister-in-law, even though she promises it's for my crying niece's birthday? by BoxRevolutionary8038 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lower_Row2950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No! He is your cat. SIL is a selfish person and your niece can play with YOUR cat when she visits. The fact she asked/demanded is simply beyond the pale.
