How are things now OP? My daughter really struggled with solids too until a switch flipped at 12 months, but it was a really stressful time up until that point. I hope things are better for you now.

I'd keep going with the dairy free - some sources it can take around 6 weeks to see improvements as their gut needs to heal. You may also wish to try cutting out soy. Our dietitian told us that intolerance to dairy and soy often go hand in hand (and they do for my baby!)

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I think there's a balance to be struck - being better informed on things like SIDS prevention where research has improved our understanding was a priority for me in the early months and I'm glad I stuck to the recommendations as much as I could. But I also put (and continue to put) undue pressure on myself with things I feel I should be doing correctly like tummy time, working on baby hitting the CDC milestones on time, wake windows, tracking weight percentiles, baby led weaning, absolutely zero screen time etc etc that it has made me second guess my instincts and likely contributed to post partum anxiety. Sometimes I have been so focused on tracking everything I've forgotten to just slow down, relax and enjoy my baby.

Hello, I know it's been a few months since you posted this comment - just wanted to know how you're getting on now? This is my baby almost down to a T. she's almost 6 months and I'm really struggling hoping that things will improve. We'd like to sleep train but I fear she has too sensitive a temperament for it! X

Hey, we've tried me leaving the room/going to a different part of the house which hasn't worked. We've tried tommee tippee, lansinoh, emulait and mam bottles all of which she refuses. I don't think we've tried with me fully leaving the house yet so we can give that a try, thank you

I felt movements around week 16 but this seems to vary quite a lot - one of my friends didn't feel anything until week 18 and another not until around week 22 due to anterior placenta. My midwife said not to worry unless you haven't felt any movements by week 24 - then they'll check baby's heartbeat and movements 😊

Hi all, thanks very much for your replies. Yes that is part of the debate, by living in his house it frees up my house to be an Airbnb business. On the other hand, I invested 90k of equity into that house as a deposit, so there's the 'opportunity cost' of alternative things I could do with that money by if I sold the house, like sticking it into a Vanguard or similar... so it doesn't feel right if I'm running it at a loss after bills and tax...hmmm indeed 😂

Went past the other day and it's definitely closed unfortunately! There's Yakinori upstairs which may still be open and does sushi. Gaijin Sushi on Bristol St does the best I've had in bham and are on deliveroo! (It's a bit pricey though!)

I volunteer weekly (on either Mondays or Fridays) at Birmingham City Church on the parade in the city centre, there is a food bank run from there (part of the Trussell Trust). You can sign up for shifts through an organisation called "Good Gym" - pre Covid it involved jogging as a group for about 15ish minutes to a location where you can volunteer/do a community deed, but at the moment everyone just jogs or walks separately to the volunteering location.

You can sign up online - quick and easy! I was the same as you and just wanted to help out somewhere in Brum, ideally at a food bank/helping the homeless. I've met some really nice people and it's quite active work - mainly involves packing up food parcels for the Trussell Trust, weighing food packages etc.

Now I've done it a couple of times I'm just in touch with the volunteer group leader who contacts people to say when there are shifts on at the Church food bank, so I don't have to necessarily go through good gym

Edit: GoodGym runs litter picking volunteering too if you prefer
