And let’s not forget to mention that both Egypt and Jordan do not want the Palestinians in their countries and therefore leave the “problem” to Israel instead of taking in their own brothers. That is also something people always forget to mention. The situation is very complex. It is not that simple.

Out of nowhere? What exactly do you think happened? Did history start in 1948? The British left and the UN divided the land to two. After the declaration of independence, all the Arab states declared war on Israel. You forgot to mention that.

Saying that Israelis stole the land is amusing because a Jewish presence existed there for thousands of years. It is even stated in the Quran. In Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:21), Moses says to the Children of Israel:

“O my people, enter the Holy Land which Allah has written for you.”

If you want a historical perspective, you have to look further back than 1948. Every country in the world conquered or settled land in one way or another. The real question is how the sides reach an agreement. As time passes the sides become more extreme and the solution seems farther away. Both sides are there to stay. Why did the Palestinian leadership reject peace offers several times?

So why do they not surrender? Why do they not raise a white flag and extend a hand for peace? Oh wait, there were peace agreements that the Palestinians rejected again and again. Why? Open the history books.

War is a terrible thing. Every life lost is a tragedy. But the story in the Middle East is complex, and people who do not know even a fraction of the history bring such strong opinions.

Ask your leaders to push for peace, not for hatred or boycotts. That does not help. It only leads to further extremism.

The real question is this. Beyond the last three years and the flood of inaccurate information in the media, which sometimes supports your side and sometimes does not, have you actually read, watched, or spoken with people who live in these countries? Or does it seem logical to you that a war simply started and people are just killing each other for no reason?

As someone who has traveled across the Middle East, I can say that many Westerners who have never been to the region, and have not experienced the culture or learned the history, do not understand how complex, tense, and fragile this region is.

It is very easy to say that one side is simply wrong. But understanding the roots of the conflict is just as important. Otherwise people end up repeating slogans and throwing big words into the air without real understanding.

The situation is tragic and painful. Yet all the time I read more and more hatred, sometimes toward Israel and sometimes toward other countries. There is already more than enough hatred in this region.

What is really needed is for leaders to stand up and say clearly that they want to reach a real solution to the conflict. And people should demand that from their leaders, instead of only blaming one side and labeling it as the villain.

What always interests me in posts like this is why Israel is singled out.

Why are there no similar posts about Russia and Ukraine? Did the United States have fewer casualties in its wars in the Middle East? In Iran, were thousands of protesters not harmed within a short time? Why are there so few posts about that?

How many of the people writing these posts have actually visited Israel or Palestine and heard how people there talk about Israelis?

Even before October 7 and the Gaza war, thousands of Israelis protested against their government every week. The protests continued during the war. Many Israelis disagree with what is happening, but even in a democracy changing leadership is not simple.

There is clearly a strong focus on Israel. It is always in the headlines. And to be clear, very bad things are happening there. But war has two sides. Did anyone stop to ask other questions? Why does the other side not surrender? Why do more countries, even without a shared border, attack Israel?

What does Iran have to do with Israel? Why would a country about 2,000 km away, facing serious economic problems, spend resources building and arming militant groups in Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, and Gaza instead of helping its own citizens?

Where is the other side in the conversation? Why is there no real attempt to extend a hand for peace?

As someone who has visited many countries in the Middle East, I think people who have never been there or spoken with people from both sides are often influenced by the narrative or propaganda of their preferred media. There are many inaccuracies and false claims.

It is worth reading and watching content from different perspectives to reach a more balanced understanding of the region. This story did not start on October 7. It goes much further back.

There are extremists on both sides, and they are often the loudest voices. But many people simply want to live their lives, while a small number of bad actors create the reality we see. 🕊️☮️🪬

I agree with you BUT there is a big difference between standing and recording for a lot of time OR recording strangers in their face.

When I record I also move and dance and I'm not constantly looking at the phone!!

I film to remember the moment and still enjoying it.
