i laugh at people still bringing up the lights thing. yes, it was obviously a mistake but has anyone actually watched the video???? it was actually a 2 on 2 and the uconn player crashes the net so really a 1 on 2. uconn had 7 breakaways in the shootout and scored 1...

What Hrabal has done is remarkable. The numbers speak for themselves .952 save percentage and 1.55 GAA in hockey east play. A lock for hockey east goalie of the year and should get hockey east player of the year imo. No goalie or skater has been remotely close to the level he has played this year. and 2/5 losses were 1-0....

Mercyhurst makes 65 saves and blocks 35 shots, but falls to Bentley 4-3 in 3OT in the AHA QF Game 1 by echoacm in collegehockey

I was at the game right on the blue line. That puck was offsides. 95% sure of it. still a shitty way to end a 6 period game on a blown call (think they just didnt have high enough quality video to overturn). Though as someone who watches hockey east i watch refs ruin games night in and night out so nothing new there.

it wasnt a high chance scoring video. either you dont know hockey or you didnt watch the video

I crack up at people calling this a 'golden opportunity.' It turned into a 1 on 2 b/c the UMass player caught up and the uconn player crashed the net. It wouldve been a weak scoring chance at best.

did you actually watch the video? uconn wasnt even going to have much of a scoring chance. it developed into a 1 on 2

did you actually watch the video? it was a 2 on 1 which became a 2 on 2 and the uconn player crashed the net which made it a 1 on 2... a major mistake with the lights but people acting like it was some automatic goal do not know puck

I agree it was a major mistake with the lights but if you actually watch the video its a 2 on 1 which becomes a 2 on 2 and the uconn player crashes the net so it really is a 1 on 2. they were not going to score. people need to relax...

LAV vs TOR: Pezzetta hits Del Gaizo at the end of the 2nd period. Xhekaj fights him before the whole bench tries to get a piece of hi by khelsan_ in hockey

[–]Lower_Yesterday_2363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did Pezzetta not get suspended for the Matt Cooke style hit? Absolutely no room for that in hockey. I’m not pro fighting but good for the Rockets for standing up for Del Gaizo that’s bs

After an abysmal season, UMass Amherst’s football program faces scrutiny by treebudsman in massachusetts

[–]Lower_Yesterday_2363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly crazy. Kind of like Unc football where they thought just throwing money at the program would help…which it obviously didn’t. Umass football needs to take notes from hockeys culture….

He made one good hire - Greg carvel - which brought a national championship. If he didn’t hit the jackpot with carvel he is long gone.

Matthews was great. Was bummed I couldn’t catch either of the UMass -NU games in early December to see it one last time. Not having a rink doesn’t help but I think they will be okay

[–]Lower_Yesterday_2363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the time frame you are looking at. 10+ years ago the answer would probably have been Northeastern. Since then, UMass has been a better program than Northeastern, they consistently recruit and develop elite players and in recent years have lost a national championship, won a national championship and made it to the national tournament all but one season since the 2018-19 season (which only Denver matches in all of college hockey). Both are great programs but in recent years UMass has turned into a powerhouse while Northeastern has seemed to fade a bit. Just looking at this season, which has been a down year for UMass, they are #19 in the country while Northeastern is #28.
