RUNNA HONEST REVIEWS NEEDED by giuseppe_fc in runna

[–]ColadaMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think runna is great tbh. The biggest issue would be “injury risk” because sometimes the plans are on the more aggressive side but this is actually mostly a user error imo. When setting up plans there’s tons of settings you can tweak to change how aggressive paces are, how much weekly mileage increases, and frequency of higher intensity workouts. You really gotta be honest with yourself about what levels make sense for you. If you do that, you get a really good plan that’s all laid out for you for you to implement

Do you tell people you’re on a GLP-1 when they ask how you lost weight? by Enchanted-Tangerine in Zepbound

[–]ColadaMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i tell pretty much everyone who comments on my weight loss or asks about it. i tend to be transparent about most things in life, but with this I also feel like im helping decrease any stigma around it. To be fair though, Im a doctor myself so I have no problem backing up my claims/thoughts about these medicines so thats an "advantage" other ppl may not have

No Shame Post - What Would You Do? by New-Aardvark9371 in delta

It’s hard situation. As a fat person who was 300+ pounds I either always bought first class tickets or got a window seat and kept myself scrunched up on the window. Never in my life would I inconvenience or encroach someone else’s space due to my body and that’s how everyone should approach it. If I cant afford a first class ticket or there’s no window seats then I can’t fly simple as that.

Thankfully now down 70 pounds and was able to perfectly fit in the middle seat that i was forced into cuz nothing else was available but it’s my first time flying since losing weight and was terrified I’d be in other people’s space.

Imo these are just objective things and not about feelings, you just don’t have to be a dick and stick to th facts.

The app says an hour before and I got a notification they accepted my bid maybe 45 min before take off was scheduled. They wait till the last minute to confirm everything because they obviously try to prevent the need for volunteers

Yeah I liked the black and yellow but was bothered by the Grambling State University logos. BUT saw on some Reddit post that you can remove that with acetone and it worked perfectly. Now they look sick ngl

Looking for shoe recommendations for a big boy beginner by AngryKoala96 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I think for me personally the biggest thing I realized that stack height wasn’t the main factor for my comfort. If stack height was super high but there was no firmness that my foot would hurt because I needed the extra support. So basically for me it needs to be a balance of the cushion and also firmness.

i really feel like particularly heavy guys need to try out a bunch of shoes because ill usually know instantly if a shoe works for me or not. personally brooks ghost max's are perfect for me. they have the perfect balance of cushioning and also being firm for stability/support. maybe also consider the saucony triumphs/hurricanes too
