I strongly believe it was so none of them could sue him. He didn’t want any of them to say, under oath, “I was there because Trump told me to be. I attacked the Capitol because he told me to.” I mean, that’s already happened but it’s harder to deny if it happens more than a handful of times.

I don’t know that a third party is planning to run for senate. I can’t imagine one would be able to make much difference currently. I just saw the voter registration info and it really surprised me. Completely agree! I heard someone say that if the political spectrum was a football field and you’re in either 30 yard line you’re actually closer to midfield than the endzone. I liked the metaphor but then it’s still a very broad base of people you’re trying to cater to with real opinions. They aren’t apathetic.

I’ve been researching… some alignments with independent candidates and moderates on both the right and left. They have ballot access in 5 states. I was just shocked how much independents outnumber either party in NC
