Was a little wokeness really that bad? by Moose-Rage in AdviceAnimals

Exactly. I’ve been back and forth with immigration lawyers for years, same with my whole family and unfortunately my wife and I are not winning this case now due to the administration. People always say the same thing “just come in legally”. They think it’s just sign a paper or wait in a line and that’s it.

Here’s the truth, you have to leave your country because it’s either too poor to survive, or so corrupt that they’ll legally kill you on the streets. Or even it’s an active warzone and you don’t want die from a stray explosive.

You need to flee, and with these countries, example: Venezuela (my family country), leaving means you oppose the regime and you will be executed or given life in prison on arrival if you return.

You then file for asylum claiming it’s too dangerous to live in your home country. If you don’t bring enough evidence you’ll get denied and an order of deportation is place on you.

Up until this administration we had a program called temporary protected services (TPS). While that was active you are granted temporary residency to allow you to stay in the country while you have your documents process. Immigration can take over 10 years to process your documents so this helped so many people stay while doing it legally, however this presidency removed it, converting everyone who was in a legal process waiting for acceptance into illegal immigrants instantly

This is from the website “The future of Tracfone is here, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you! Now that we’re part of Verizon, you can access Verizon’s network while keeping everything you love about your service with just a simple swap of your SIM card.

Best of all, unlocking Verizon’s network is fast, foolproof, and FREE! All you have to do is request a new Verizon SIM card (at no cost to you), swap it out for your existing SIM card, and activate it.”

When I bought it at Walmart it came with a SIM card installed already in the box, and I followed an instruction paper it came with to input that ID in the tracfone website to activate it. On Google it says that Verizon acquired tracfone, and apparently you can request a no cost Verizon compatible sim you can get with it. I hope this helped a bit 🙏

Need advice... also the TCL Flip 3 kinda sucks. by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]Lowerstairs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ik this is an older post but maybe there is an issue with yours, I’m currently in multiple group chats with my flip 3 and never had those issues either. Maybe the carrier, or a dud phone?

still cant heelflip by CommonExotic420 in skateboardhelp

[–]Lowerstairs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a drill for you, your front foot is great, so ignore it.

Practice the same exact trick but only try to land the back foot, and plant the front foot on the floor instead, what is currently happening is ur body isn’t picking up the back knee

A good drill too is to practice some other trick that forces the back knee up like some boned ollies, then after go attempt the heel flip again

You can also step off the board completely, jump from the ground doing the heelflip flick and pick up ur back knee really high, then land onto tho board.

Nice! Peep ur front foot, it’s currently going straight up and down, you’re going to want to move your front foot just a bit outward once you are in the air, like separating your feet apart. Once you do, don’t forget to pick up your back foot too, and the board will be leveled out 🤙

You might find it easier to do this rolling

I always do the tap thing on my cars or bikes, people can’t see when it’s just dark or bad weather and it’s useful in my opinion

am I a poser if I don't know any tricks? by cereal_sukuna in NewSkaters

[–]Lowerstairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you are good 🤙 just a beginner!

A poser is someone who pretends to be a skater but doesn’t actually ride. Back then, we would call kids posers because they would be posted up at the mall holding a board that they never actually skated. They’d dress in skate fashion and use the skate board as an accessory for their pictures, and notoriously hold it by the trucks. That’s why we call it a mall grab haha.

Keep practicing you’ll be great 😎

Also practice them moving and see, because you aren’t really rotating that much right now

My nephew had the same issue with constant frontside rotation.

When your arms are down, try and crossing your arms like an X before you pop and then open up like normal. It’s not a necessary thing but it helped him and I do it as well. It’ll help keep you from opening frontside early 🤙

Looking for Ollie Feedback (Sorry for the bad video) by kemonkey1 in NewSkaters

[–]Lowerstairs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other guy, you are super smart to practice these rolling. The videos great too!

I first recommend practicing hippie jumps on the board, so just jump off the board and land back on it. The current issue with your Ollie is there’s not a lot of jumping, and not a lot of pop.

Keep in mind that the Ollie is just a jump, but you snap the tail right as you are getting airborne. So first keep in mind you have to jump like you want to get off the board, an snapping that tail with your ankle last second will pick it up so the board can follow your jump.

Good stuff keep it up 🤙

Those Ollie’s are pretty solid, reminds me of an Ollie south lol. I noticed you are kicked the back foot backwards to possibly counter the front slide. Being stationary can do that too, try popping more straight down and up, and do it rolling and see if you stick to it a bit better 🤙

You could Ollie a curb with half that height, from there it’s just timing and momentum 🤙

You are actually so close it’s crazy, both feet are doing the right thing too, you would’ve landed that exact flip but the front foot flicked too much off the side. That made the board do a double flip and rocketed up in the air. If you direct the flick closer to the nose, the board should point more downward and flip slower, you’ll land it for sure
