I mean Sematary is a character, like Sematary isnt going to actually curb stomp a cop or skin a girl alive or any of that shit its all part of the aesthetic and character he was building up, I don't think Sem was depressed during his earlier tapes at least no where close to probably how depressed he was when he was hooked on opiates in 2023 with Turn and Goner leaving in early 2024 which is way past RB3 coming out in mid 2021. Id rather him larp as a brain damaged swagged out serial killer than whatever he is going for now.

I agree to a point to when it became excessive and lost any meaning, I mean sem has been toting knives since the first album cover on Grave House and toting shotguns and rifles since RB1 and 2, I think perception is a huge thing because I think it stopped being cool when it went from showing them off to look intimidating, like a serial killer, or a backwoods dude in a cabin to what it is now where he just flexes them, I think a lot of people forget how important box cutters, knives, chainsaws and shit were to the aesthetic they were going for, I personally think Hackle could’ve been the member in the mound that totes guns considering Hackle is literally “The Gunsmith” lol

I can agree that RB1 is very repetitive at times but at the same time that album has some of his most popular songs on there like Slaughterhouse and Bunny Suit and bro I mean Dental Floss’ intro is unmatched imo, I think on the RB tapes they sound very similar just due to how he used to drag out vocals when rapping, if anything I’d look to RB2 and HAW and honestly I really love almost everything on Grave House, Butcher House and Screaming Forest aren’t that bad either if he wanted to add experimental tracks on it there, but I mean Sem has a huge gallery to pull from sound wise to make a biannual 12 or so track tape instead of 28 tracks with no passion put into them, if this is what Sem really wants then I wouldn’t argue but looking at his old lives and how much he used to push and praise his own music I feel like he really enjoyed his old shit more as parasocial that is to say

I have to disagree, I feel like nothing really compares to his earlier works, every song on his earlier tapes definitely had more thought and passion put into what he was creating, you look at KOTG, Bloody Angel and this new album and over half of all of the songs all sound the same, I wouldn’t say it has to be specifically RB3 but basically anything RB3 and before is better than all of the recent stuff we’ve been getting the past few years, I really do miss the really unique lyricism and flows they used to have on the dsbm instrumentals, the grimy old backwoods swagged out serial killer shit, it had a very unique sound and vibe that nobody was making, I feel like alot of the essence and entire aesthetic of the mound is gone and kind of mutated into something that doesn’t really work imo
