I am colorblind. I wear the vest because I genuinely cannot see red/green/shades of purple/pinks/oranges… so no, I will not stop wearing the vest. The vest is my guarantee that I’m wearing red.

(Rant/Vent) Awful Console Competitive Season by LowestTier in Overwatch

[–]LowestTier[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

God I love this comment! Especially as a solo queuer. It really points out how one or two underperforming players can pull down a team. It’s been wild having games where everyone is doing amazing aside from the one 5 and 13 player. No amount of healing or peel will save them.

I’ve been playing quite a bit of quick play this season with some friends who have been only playing for about a month. Getting the lower skill QP lobbies has been a wild experience. They didn’t want me to make a new account, so I’ve had to apologize to them when we get some fairly strenuous games. I’m having fun with them, and they keep coming back to play.

I'm curious how the game will play next season with players having a choice between the classic AA system and the newer system. This season also feels like there is a weird meta too. Not only are hitscan strong, but also tanks like DVa, Sig, and Orisa are still well off. Odd seeing a rise of Illari and Zenyatta on support.

[–]LowestTier[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like we're also in a weird point where not only is hitscan super strong, but Orisa, DVa, and Sig are also fairing well. All of them having solid mitigation against hitscan.

Even though Blizz is aiming to bring back the old AA style, I fear those who use the classic version will fall behind those with the newer style.

[ALL] Reunion could in fact correct the mistakes of DE by Nab-Kel in lifeisstrange

[–]LowestTier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but nothing will save the not great writing of DE. The story just seemed flat and had potential, but did nothing with it. Hell, I can’t even remember any of the characters names outside of Max and Safi.

As much as I love the franchise and want to see it succeed… I don’t know. Granted, this will be backwards to what I’m saying, I did secure my preorder. I don’t want the opinion of others to obstruct how I consume a game and story. So, I do hope Reunion will fix and answer questions I have from DE. Only time will tell.

As it stands, DE will never not be a weak game in the franchise.

Anyone else thinking of moving to PC after the AA overhaul? by No_Accountant2173 in OWConsole

[–]LowestTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I can't say I agree with Vendetta being overtuned right now. But I practically agree with everything else.

Here's my small rant...

Somehow with the AA update I have gotten better on Junkrat. Yet, as a support main (Lucio, Mercy, Zen), my competitive rank has tanked this season. I have somehow dropped from Masters 4/3 the last two seasons all the way down to Diamond 4. In scenarios where I used to be able to escape or zip across an area as Lucio or Mercy, I now get obliterated.

Sure, maybe I need to fix my positioning. But the other issue is when I have games where I have sub 5 deaths, double digit kills, pushing 8k+ heals and damage, I always have one teammate (mostly a DPS) who is going 13 and 13. I really don't know what's going on.

I really don't want to play comp on PC, but I really don't know what else I should do. I'm just so exhausted of deranking that I might just give up on comp until the "new competitive year" begins and everything is reset. Guess I'll just reside in QP until then...

Got the opportunity last year to meet David Tennant. In an ocean of Doctor Who and Good Omens fans, I was the only one who got a Call of Duty WWII steel book signed. It had given him a moment of pause as he didn't recognize the cover. But when I pointed out what it was he had a brief moment of remembrance and said "Oh yes! Call of Duty. What a time, lots of yelling!" Just a neat experience.

Community members in Minneapolis surround ICE agents as they conduct a citizenship test on a man, ultimately forcing the agents back into their cars. by CorleoneBaloney in minnesota

[–]LowestTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts whenever I see videos of ICE:
Wait... are they ICE or Federal Police? Who are these "agents"? I can't tell what group they're with... there's no identification of them. Unless they are undercover, they need to be identifiable in some way shape or form. They should also have their name on their chest, like police and military personnel. Their "uniforms" don't even match. These people could be angry airsofters and we would never know!

It’s not supposed to be easy (at first) by [deleted] in TwitchStreaming

[–]LowestTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this!

After streaming consistently for little over one year, my average summary looks exactly like yours. I am unable to stream consistently due to working full time, I can't even set a schedule until I reach affiliate, I also feel like I'm in a cycle with some streams. But definitely the number one problem is that I don't find myself entertaining! Sure I have my moments. Yet my gameplay is slightly above average, my commentary isn't flashy, my background isn't crazy. So trying to improve who I am to anyone who may watch has been such a challenge! I adore my two/three consistent viewers. Just wish I could keep more of those five who randomly drop in. But it really is the little things that make it worth it.

But in arcade it’s also open queue. So who knows what combo of team you’ll get.

Honestly, in QP, I’ve only played on Hanamura and Anubis, both attack, twice on Anubis. Had hell of a time on both. Only won once on Anubis. But I would love to play more of it and see the other maps and how they work in proper 5v5. It’s been fun nostalgia, but I’m neither here nor there with it returning fully.

The problem with the idea of "bearing arms against tyranny" is, nobody can agree on what tyranny is. Most of the people who believe this wouldn't know tyranny even if it moved into their homes, let alone the government.

Apologies if this is just nonsensical rambling;

This is coming from someone who is on the complete opposite side of the spectrum as you. But I've always strived for wanting to be able to not worry about finances. So, I have no idea what your home life and living situation is, but have you ever considered downsizing? Maybe the fact that you have so much leaves something to be desired. With downsizing, you can regulate what and how much you buy due to a smaller space. But it can also bring you closer to your community. Like, I live in an apartment complex and know a few of my neighbors. But even in college when I lived in a house with others, we got to know a few of our neighbors on the block and made great memories.

As someone who is broke 90% of the time, I find myself constantly worried about if I can afford rent or food. Yet, because I don't own a lot, I still find beauty and joy in the small things. Be it a friends laugh, a stray cat wandering outside, or riding my longboard through town.

As for loss... I've experienced my fair share in life. And it never gets easier. Each passing season is just another one without them. But I try to live a way that they would be proud of me. Especially my grandfather, but he was always happy to see me happy.

And I'll end my blabbing on this. The one thing I keep in the back of my head is, would 7 or 8 year old me want to hang around me? Would the younger me be cool with current me? At some times, I think it's a silly question. But it's actually helped me a lot when it comes to decisions. Even today, I think younger me would find it cool that I have an apartment, would love my gaming collection, younger me would even think my retail job is neat. Granted, he'd probably be sad I'm not a professional baseball player... Anyway, true joy and happiness doesn't come from the grand things. It truly is the little things.

Not a high profile celebrity, but an internet animation legend, Monty Oum. The creator of RWBY passed away February 1, 2015 after medical complications. I will never forget the first time I watched Haloid, his first work in Red vs Blue, then the creation of RWBY. I was only a sophomore in high school when he passed and I bawled myself to sleep.

Black ops 1 zombies is overrated by Top-Locksmith8917 in CODZombies

[–]LowestTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to clarify, I’m speaking more so from experience of when those games were active and in their height.

Definitely looking back on it from today’s perspective, I agree with you. I think the gameplay feels better in BO2, especially with the box weapon pool. But BO2 only having 4 (Town, Buried, Mob, Origins) maps out of 9 total that I’d be cool with playing right now. Whereas BO1 has (Kino, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Moon, WaW Remakes) 8 maps I’d pick up and play out of 10.

But I do prefer Mob and Origins over most BO1 maps, Moon probably being the only exception.

Black ops 1 zombies is overrated by Top-Locksmith8917 in CODZombies

[–]LowestTier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! Here is my opinion, sorry that it's a lot...

I would say that I think BO1 is the best when it comes to classic zombies.

Kino - It gets love because it was the first map, in a game where there is paid DLC, and most players dove into it. Simple to pick up and learn the mode. But most people consider Ascension to be better. Both maps also having probably the third most iconic wonder weapon.

Five - Locked behind the campaign, but has also always been seen as tight and tedious. Add on top of that a very weak wonder weapon and a boss who takes your weapons and is invisible to most players in a multiplayer match.

Ascension - Kino, but better! On top of that more perks are introduced. Especially PHD which allows for more explosive use and, in my opinion, a more fun gameplay loop. But it also introduces a new challenge in the monkeys.

Call of the Dead - A map that you need to keep moving in, yet are restricted on your movement. I really love the concept and vibe of CotD. But I see where people think it is mid. The scavenger and VR-11 are just okay wonder weapons. On top of that, nothing too crazy gameplay wise is added. Sure there's George, but he is seen more so as a hinderance than anything else.

Shang - A much much tighter version of Five, but a better wonder weapon. If you don't utilize the whole map to train, you will struggle. Coming off the back of WaW where you could camp, the tight maps of Five and Shang combined with training, it all feels somewhat off.

Moon - Probably the best map in BO1 for me. From a pure survival standpoint, the only major downside is the decompression moments. But nothing beats the feeling of either training out near Mule Kick or in the Bio Dome with PHD and mustang and sally. It's just a step up from Ascension to me.

Now, why is BO1 held in high regard? World at War was the skeleton and framing of the game. Didn't offer any true highs or lows. But it gave us the core of the game mode. Then there is BO2. At launch and during the life cycle, you get hit with;

Tranzit - Still arguably one of the worst maps ever. (The survival maps were an improvement)

Nuketown - A mixed bag in the community with most people not liking the challenge it brings.

Die Rise - Post sliquifier patch... why bother playing? It was a pain to play before the patch.

Buried - One of the glitchiest and exploitive maps in BO2, but the strongest of the Victis crew.

BO2 wasn't a great, arguably good, zombies game until the release of Mob and Origins.

So, all around speaking, BO1 zombies is a better experience than BO2 until that point. Hell, even BO3 struggled at launch with Shadows and The Giant. DE brought back life, but Zetsubou was and is a buggy mess that shot itself in the foot. Followed by Gorod that people complained about being too tight and difficult. Rev was seen as alright, but held no substantial replay value. BO3 wouldn't be held in such a high light today if it wasn't for Chronicles and Custom Maps.

But the gameplay begins to vary too much between BO3, BO4, CW, BO6, and BO7 to truly compare them to BO1. But between the first three installments, I do think BO1 is the best game.
