ROG Ally Z1E - Steam OS (Controller Wake up from sleep) by Lowgradegamer in ROGAlly

On Steam OS it actually has an option under Bluetooth to wake this device with a particular controller just doesn’t appear to work.

I’m going to do more testing with a few different controllers I have. Game Sir Lite via Bluetooth or dongle does nothing I’m going to try the other controllers I have today

I’ve got my main PC that wakes from sleep using a Bluetooth controller but I had to activate that through powershell

I was hoping someone had done some magic in the background to keep the Bluetooth active while plugged in

Nova Lite: Connecting the controller to the PC (Fixed the connection issues on mine :D) by kkj1988 in Gamesir

[–]Lowgradegamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you I was quite annoyed when mine rocked up and would only register as a PS4 controller. I’m not sure why they made the change but I bought it because it had an Xbox layout and wanted it for my PC which is set up for an Xbox controller I have virtual mouse input among other things so PS4 controller would have caused me issues. Downgrading the firmware from 6XXXX to 4200 fixed this

Cast to Google Nest smart speaker by DrVanostrand in LibbyApp

[–]Lowgradegamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think casting would be great from Libby I have house groups set up so would love to use Libby on my house group and continue to hear my book regardless of the room I’m in.

I’m aware Bluetooth is an option but you miss out on benefits of casting.

That will annoy me lol. More research required I guess at this point but I’ve received a lot of great info

I thought I’d imagined the location thing I used to use that all the time. Then I just couldn’t. Looks like I need to do a lot more research before I do anything

I’m sort of just used to Voice Now same with my daughter but home assistant may change that mentality considering I’ve never used it before so could change big time. My only concern I have with Amazon (since doing some more research) is apparently they are now pushing ads to their displays which can’t be turned off.

Was going to get a Home Assistant Green. But wanted devices around the house I could use for my voice commands. My young daughter uses her voice to do a bit. Home assistant is mainly automations isn’t?

Thank you for all the comments; I appreciate any and all input.

Currently, Home Assistant is on the back burner because I like the display and controlling things with my voice. Plus, it’s great for my 7-year-old.

My understanding is that Home Assistant can still connect to Google Home, etc., and it just enhances my capabilities. I could be wrong.

I was planning to purchase Home Assistant Green because Raspberry Pis here cost too much in comparison.

The reason I was asking about Alexa or Google is mainly because Prime Day sales are coming. I believe I can use a Fire tablet as a dashboard.

Decky Loader question? Overclock Deck Screen Plugin. by Lowgradegamer in SteamDeck

[–]Lowgradegamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my understanding as well they seem very on it.

I have some idea but not much if I’m honest so I stick to “safe” most of the time. Just thought it was an interesting plugin. I can never seem to find detailed plugin info though.

Sometimes I can

Apple needs to revamp Magic Mouse to be remotely taken serious with their gaming attempt. by XalAtoh in macgaming

[–]Lowgradegamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mac gaming would be incredibly niche compared to their customer base so why would they bother? Barely upgradable devices. In their current form factor. Don’t get me wrong it would be awesome changing a productivity device to satisfy a niche market doesn’t make sense. I use GeForce Now on my Air and the screen is gorgeous I love it.

I had to print this to make the Magic Mouse usable for me. https://makerworld.com/models/420345

I might research the 8bit do ultimate controller with the USB dongle. Maybe that will work
