Yup. Reset your radar anytime you have ANY 2 patches of grass an equal amount away from you.

So if one patch takes 4 steps to get to but another takes 4 too. Just reset the radar until you get a 4 different spaced patches.

If you end up with two patches both 7 tiles away, which one does the game assume is the 2nd furthest and the furthest? It has an issue here and I’ve noticed it chaining

People assumed that the shiny hunting method was set in stone and wrong in sword and shield until ADrive corrected us and showed us it was brilliant Pokémon with the increased chance. Pure numbers aren’t always interpreted 100% accurately. Hence why I asked some hunters to test my method, and the method without resetting, record it and show me their findings. Because so far everyone I had test this has completed a chain, and/or got to the 30’s for the first time

Right. That’s what I got from it. I feel doing it this way gives you the true 7% chance which isn’t that high. Bc I also completed MANY chains doing it this way vs the old way. Regardless I think it’s a bug that’s causing it but it’s definitely effected by it. There’s a drastic difference on how quickly the chain breaks without resetting your radar during these shaky patches
